A Letter from the Principal

Thank you for your love and dedication.

Parents and students,

What a great start to the 2017-2018 school year it has been. I hope everyone has found their back-to-school rhythm by now.

I’d like to take a moment to remind everyone that our mission is to provide each and every student with the best, most rigorous education possible so that our students graduate 100% college and career ready. Everything we do must be centered on that. I’m surrounded by a great staff and parents to see that mission through. Thank you, parents, PTO and community leaders for your love and dedication to our students.

Students- you have a big job in front of you. We are all here to help you be successful. I want each one of you to show up (on time) every day. Do your best, and carry yourself with respect for others. You can’t go wrong with that advice!!!

Eric Watson, Ed. S.

Personalized Learning in SHS

Launching our "WE OWN IT" campaign

The "WE OWN IT" campaign will promote student ownership inside and outside of the classroom. We will also use this to promote personalized learning and student agency.

Advisory lessons are being created around academic and character education as suggested by the students on our Pre-Advisory sessions.

Dr. Jeganathan invited Georgia State University's Bio-Bus for a two-day lesson with her Biology classes. Day 1 was an excellent experience for our Tigers. This opportunity is surely a blessing! They all enjoyed the hands-on activity and we are waiting to see the zone of inhibition on Day 2.

Mr. Watson and Ms. Clarington - thank you for granting the Bio Bus opportunity for our students!

Thank you Ms. Hynson for always being our gracious host to everyone here in Tiger Nation! Subway lunchbox day is always appreciated.

Chef Jackson - thank you for your hospitality with the Bio-Bus team!

Great job, Tigers!
