1.What is the Most Important Belief in Buddhism?

The most important belief in Buddhism is to lead a calm and peaceful life according to the 8 Step Plan so that you can become "Enlightened". The first person to ever become "enlightened" was a man named Siddhartha Gautama, or, more commonly referred to as "the Buddah". the Buddah is the leader of Buddhism (hints the name) and his followers try to live like him.

2. Why Do they Believe that?

People believe that they should become enlightened so they can have good Dharma and live a good, clear-minded life. When the Buddah achieved "enlightenment", he gathered followers and taught people to lead good lives. So, Buddhists believe it is important that they, too, achieve "enlightenment".

3. What makes People want to follow the teachings of Buddhism?

People want to follow the teachings of Buddhism to become enlightened. They use the 8 Step Plan to do so. The 8 Fold Path is following 8 rules (listed below).

1. Right View

2. Right Intention

3. Right Speech

4. Right Action

5. Right Livelihood

6. Right Effort

7. Right Mindfulness

8. Right Concentration

4 and 5. Current Event/ How do extremists justify their Actions Against Non-Believers?

Buddhist monks, although they are supposed to live good peaceful lives, are becoming extremists. Many Buddhist monks have started attacking the Muslim Rohingya people in India, China, and Myanmar in an anti-Islamic movement. They are doing this because 90% of the people in Myanmar are Buddhists and 10% are Muslims. The monks believe that all should be Buddhists, so the monks and the government have stripped them of their rights and land and attacked them.

7. Music/Translation - Homage to the Buddha

Homage to the Buddha

"Thus indeed, is that Blessed One: He is the Holy One, fully enlightened, endowed with clear vision and virtuous conduct, sublime, the Knower of the worlds, the incomparable leader of men to be tamed, the teacher of gods and men, enlightened and blessed."

The lyrics in this song mean that the Buddha is the holy one, that he is blessed and that he has clear vision. He knows everything and cannot be compared to man for he is far greater. He is the teacher of all people and he is enlightened and blessed.
