Attendance in school is important to the success of everyone. Attendance in the classroom enables the student to participate in instruction, class discussions, and other related activities.

We know that at this time of year illnesses are going around. The best defense is washing hands and staying home if there is a fever. If your child does visit a doctor we would appreciate a copy of the note for our files. Our attendance line is available 24 hours a day.

Our Board of Education policy regarding attendance can be found in our handbook and in part reads:

Attendance Regulations and Procedures

Students are permitted eight days of excused absences per semester. These absences must be documented by a parent excuse. If a student will be absent for more than five consecutive days due to illness, a doctor’s excuse will be required. Administrative review of attendance record will determine referral to the County Attendance Officer.
