Musher Mash at Two Rivers School!
On January 22nd we will have several local dog mushers coming to the school to teach our students about all aspects of dog mushing. In the morning the mushers will cover topics including; dog care, race equipment, cold weather equipment, survival, and junior mushers. We are very excited and grateful to have these mushers come out particularly during race season.
In the afternoon we have arranged for all students to have the opportunity to take short dog sled rides. Because we will have dogs on school property, we will be sending home a special permission slip and a questionnaire about your child's comfort level around dogs. Please take some time to look that over and talk with your child about this exciting opportunity.
This is a really big event for us! Our students are putting together thank you gifts for each of the mushers and we will be providing chili for lunch for all of our volunteers. We have also let the news media know that we will be doing this event as it will make a great positive story about our community and our school. I will be posting pictures on our website and Facebook after the event.
