The Malley Drive Messenger

March 2023

A Message From the Principal

Dear Malley Drive Families,

It is hard to believe that the weather is finally warming up, and we only have a little over

ten weeks left with your children this school year! It was wonderful seeing you all last

month for conferences, and we still have plenty of learning going on here at Malley

Drive Elementary. Please see the important announcements outlined below, and as

always, feel free to give us a call or stop by if you have any questions or compliments!

CMAS Testing (Colorado Measures of Student Success): We will begin testing in the

areas of English Language Arts and Math for 3rd , 4th and 5th grade scholars, and an

additional test in the area of Science for 5th graders in the month of April. Please help

your scholar get plenty of rest and arrive to school on time so their brains are ready to

demonstrate all they know!

* 3rd , 4th , 5th Grade ELA: April 3rd , 4th and 6th

* 3rd , 4th , 5th Grade Math: April 10th , 11th and 13th

* 5th Grade Science: April 17th , 20th and 21st

Planning for the 2023-2024 School Year: Several parents have asked questions

about the teacher placement for their child for the upcoming year. While we do not

accept teacher requests, we welcome and value parental input regarding the classroom

setting needs of your child. If you would like to share your feedback with us please

submit a letter to me by Friday, April 14th .

As always, please email or call me with any questions, concerns, or celebrations at

Kristin.powers@adams12.org or 720-972-5480.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful children

with us every day!

Many Thanks,

Kristin Powers

Thank you to the Five Star Education Foundation for supporting our Stang’s Boutique and Pantry.

Stang's Boutique & Community Pantry: Our boutique and pantry is an emergency relief service available for Malley Drive students and their families. We can provide families with shelf stable food, hygiene items. We can also help with shelf-stable food, coats, clothing, toiletries, cleaning supplies, and school supplies.

Stay Informed

Adams 12 Five Star Schools uses School Messenger to send email, phone and text messages (opt in) to parents/guardians. This system is used by both the district office and all schools to communicate with families.

Contact information in School Messenger for families comes directly from Infinite Campus (IC). Parents/guardians are encouraged to log into their IC account or contact their child's school to ensure all contact information is correct and up-to-date.

Text Messaging (opt in)

Parents can opt in to receive text message alerts sent by the district and schools. Opting in is a two-step process:

  1. Make sure your cell phone number is listed in Infinite Campus in the cell phone field.
  2. Then text YES to 67587.

Personalize your SchoolMessenger communications

After all the contact information in the databases is correct, parents can set up an account in School Messenger to set preferences for how they receive communications sent through the system. School Messenger also provides an "Inbox" which contains all the messages a person has received from the Five Star District and schools in the past 30 days. Note that School Messenger accounts may only be set up with email addresses that are in Infinite Campus for parents/guardians. Learn more!
