A Look At Our Week
Your children are Science fans! This week, thanks to one of our families, we explored the properties of apples using our five senses. I look forward to kicking off our research project on spiders this week...
This week we will be reading two books that showcase courage: Amazing Grace by Mary Ann Hoffman, and Ira Sleeps Over by Benjamin Waber. Courage is the character trait that we're exploring during October during Social Studies lessons. These books also touch on Leader In Me themes. I am excited to try my first Paideia seminar ever, using these texts. Paideia is a structure that allows for higher order thinking, and socratic learning.
This Thursday - Fun Run!!
Send your child into school wearing sunscreen (we are not allowed to apply it to your child), tennis shoes, and with a water bottle. Please send in your permission slip ASAP, otherwise your child will have to be left at school.
Fire/Police Station Field Trip - This Friday!

We have a good supply of acorns to start off our collections. Keep sending in your fall nature specimens for our Science Center!
If any of you fancy volunteering your decorating skills to the classroom for Halloween, please email me! I like cobwebs, spiders, bats, etc. (nothing scary!!)
