St. Joseph eUpdate
Believe, Live, Enliven
Moving Along with Mrs. Maddox
Amazing job this week with everything new and distant!!! Yes, we had several bumps in the road, especially with technology and small items with our remote learners. But, overall we have accomplished so much goodness in five short days. I can't help but celebrate our sweet community.
This year our school theme is Believe, Live, and Enliven. Believe in Christ, live a virtuous life, and you will enliven our world. Each month we will be studying and highlighting a certain virtue in all classes, but especially during Team Huddle. Weekly, you will find information about the highlighted virtue in our eUpdate, and a Family Huddle video you can watch and discuss with your children. I can't wait to see the fruits of these intentional conversations within each family.
On the topics of arrival and dismissal, I couldn't be more proud of what we have accomplished this week. Father and I made the executive decision to not worry about the alphabet in the morning and just have someone directing traffic on Flint Street. It has made a world of difference. So to be clear, in the morning, both lines will be open at 7:30. You do not need to worry about your last name, simply follow the person on traffic control and go where they direct you.
Our parents are rocking the new dismissal routine. Today all kids were out of the building in 3 minutes. Amazing!!!! Next week we will begin dismissing students at 3:30, please be parked by 3:20. If you cannot make it by 3:20, wait and come to the Central Lot at 3:40. We will offer a second pick up for all late parents (regardless of your student's grade) at the Central lot starting at 3:40.
Here are helpful tips for pick up and drop off:
1) Arrival - Have masks, water bottle, and lunch in hand ready to go. Students may stand on the curb, by their car, to wait for an administrator or teacher to take their temperature.
2) Messages about health and early dismissal should be emailed to the nurse, not shared during morning drop off, this is slowing the line down.
3) Next week we will begin dismissing students at 3:30, please be parked by 3:20. If you cannot make it by 3:20, wait and come to the Central Lot at 3:40. We will offer a second pick up for all late parents (regardless of your student's grade) at the Central lot starting at 3:40.
Hats off to our parents, students, and fantastic teachers for a successful first week. A big special thank you to our parent parking volunteers.... believe me we could have never done this without you. Enjoy the long weekend. Be safe, and we will see you Tuesday in the Circle Drive!
With a Grateful Heart,

Dear Parents,
We are so excited to finally be back in the school building and reunite with your children. We have implemented many measures to keep both staff and students safe such as wearing masks and social distancing. We will also be asking parents to assess their children daily for any signs of illness before bringing them to school.
We ask that you keep your child home if they are not feeling well or have the following symptoms:
· Temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or above
· Cough
· Shortness of breath
· Headache
· Muscle or body aches (with no known cause)
· Sore throat and or congestion
· Nausea/vomiting/diarrhea
· Loss of taste or smell
Please know that your child’s health and well-being are a priority. We will continue to be proactive to ensure that the St. Joseph community stays healthy. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Donna Lowther, School Nurse

St. Joseph Pandemic Prayer for Healing and Guidance 2020-2021
Good and Gracious Lord, You have led us through difficult times before and continuously guide us with your wisdom and dignity. Be our navigator as we encompass new and frightening paths. There is much strife and anxiety when it comes to the unknown. Please continue to be our safeguard and our comfort. Help all of us discover, acknowledge, and honor your blessings during these times of uncertainty. Walk with us this school year. In Your name we pray, Amen.
