Attention all current or future French students who are in 9-11th grade! COLLEGE FAIR COMING TO WILDCAT ARENA - SEPTEMBER 25
PTSO OFFICERS AND MEMBERS!
We invite parents to join the PTSO for the first meeting of the year. There are still a couple of leadership positions available. The meeting is at 6 pm on Tuesday September 5th in the Food Court.
JROTC PROMOTES CAMARADERIE AT THE SMOKIES GAME
On Saturday, August 19, 2023, cadets from six JROTC programs from schools in East Tennessee gathered for a night of baseball.
For the second consecutive year, Oak Ridge High School NJROTC has coordinated this event to promote cadet comradery amongst various service affiliated JROTC programs, while enjoying America’s favorite past time. This event took place at Smokies Stadium in Kodak, TN, the home of the Double A Affiliate of the Chicago Cubs.

FREE LAUNDRY EVENT - LAST TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH
PSAT - ATTENTION ALL SOPHOMORE & JUNIOR PARENTS
Attention all Sophomores and Juniors: The PSAT/NMSQT® is an OPTIONAL test that will be offered to 10th and 11th graders at Oak Ridge High School on Tuesday, October 24th at 7:50 a.m. This date is set by PSAT/CollegeBoard. The test should end by 1:00 p.m. and the food court will be open at that time for students that take the test to eat lunch.
· Online registration and fee payment will begin on Monday, August 28th through Friday, September 8th
· The cost is $18. No refunds are available if you do not take the test.
· A limited number of exams are available. Please sign-up by the September 8th deadline.
· Click on the link below to register for the PSAT and pay your $18 fee (see attachment for step-by-step instructions).
ASVAB REGISTRATION
The ASVAB Test will be given September 6th.
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military.
This test will be administered Wednesday, Sept. 6th beginning at 8:00 a.m. (Students are responsible for any classwork missed.) Seating is limited, so please sign up as soon as possible.
Students who are testing will report to the amphitheater at 7:50 on Wednesday. This assessment is available for sophomores, juniors, and seniors only. Completing parent information on form implies that parent is aware that the student is taking the ASVAB. PARENTS of Juniors and Seniors - Closed Campus decisions will be made Tuesday morning. Any junior or senior with an "F" on mid-terms will be placed in closed campus lunch until Fall Break.

Field Marshal:
1. Arrive to your scheduled location (will be notified of that)
2. Sit and read, watch the game, homework, etc.
3. At the end of the game - collect game card from referee and call in the score.

PARENTS OF WELLNESS A STUDENTS
During the course of Wellness A, students will participate in a Family Life Education programming called “The Sex Talk” which is presented by the non-profit, “Let’s Talk 101”. This programming follows the State of Tennessee Lifetime Wellness Standards and School Board Policy 4.2.13. Per that policy, the parent/guardian has the right to opt their child out of participating in the program. If you would like to opt your child out, please complete the following using the link below.

SCARBORO 85 DAY - COMMUNITY EVENT
ST. MARYS BEGINS SCHOOL LUNCHES ON AUGUST 14TH
St. Mary’s will begin serving lunches every Monday starting August 14th as long as school is in session. They will not serve on Monday the week of Thanksgiving, or the Monday immediately following. Students should park on the street parking and walk to our building, or park in front of our building or in the parking lot just past it on the other side of our gym. LUNCHES ARE $3.00

TNPROMISE - APPLICATION IS NOW OPEN
Tennessee Promise is both a scholarship and mentoring program focused on increasing the number of students that attend a postsecondary institution in our state. It provides students a last-dollar scholarship, meaning the scholarship may cover the cost of tuition and mandatory fees not covered by the federl Pell grant, the HOPE Scholarship, or the Tennessee Student Assistance Award at any of the state's 13 community colleges or 27 colleges of applied technology. Students may also use the scholarship at other eligible institution offering an associate degree program, but at these institutions the award would be capped at the average cost of tuition and mandatory fees at the community colleges. The ABSOLUTE DEADLINE to apply is November 1st, 2023. Link to apply:

STUDENT ACCESS TO ORHS
Students are not allowed in the building before 7:00 am when staff is available for supervision. Students are expected to vacate the premises by 3:20 daily if not under the direct supervision of a teacher or coach. Students will NOT be allowed to remain in the Food Court to wait on a parent or a ride home. No supervision is provided after this time.

- Click the blue “Login” button under Customer Login
- Enter your username and password for your Food City online account.
- At the top of the page click, “My Account”. This will load the customer dashboard page.
- Below the Fuel Bucks section, you will find “My School Bucks” section. (The total school bucks earned will show here as well)
- Click the “Update School” link listed below. Select the school and click, “Save”
School Bucks-Store Level Enrollment
- Stores can enroll schools from VC Enroll for customers who do not have access to the internet. (Only HRCs and HCs have authorized access.)
- To do so they enter the customers ValuCard number, selected “Look UP” and select the school the customer has chosen in the School Bucks field.
Common Questions
- Why is my school not on my receipt? Schools are no longer listed on receipts but can be managed anytime from their online account.
- When does this begin/end? The program runs from SEPTEMBER 1 THROUGH MAY 9, 2023.
Deadline to register is December 31, 2023.
