Greenback campaign
When we finish our Greenback campaign, we have always given each grade level an additional $500 to spend on classroom material. Other purchases we made last year included subscriptions to student learning apps (Raz Kids, IXL) and the smaller soccer goals for the outside fields.
We ask that you give what you can, knowing that all the money will stay here to help Glenhope students. We also pledge to not do fundraisers (except for the Sky Ranch trip) if we are able to raise enough during Greenback to meet our needs. Each year for the last 16 years, our generous community has contributed over $10,000 to support our teachers and students. So far we have collected just over $6700 for our Greenback fund this year.

Native garden-on its way to Glenhope
Mrs. Mannen and I have met with the expert gardener and we have lots of great ideas to provide an outdoor interactive garden for our students to help science come alive. Thanks to the volunteers who have offered to help so far. We've also gotten the district to offer some help, so we are well on our way to making this a reality!
S.A.G.E.
You are invited to celebrate the start of school at the SAGE Family Fun Night at Dave & Buster’s! Bring the family for games, food and socializing in SAGE’s private dining room on Sunday, September 10, between 5 and 8 p.m. The reason SAGE encourages you to pre-purchase cards is because SAGE will receive 50% of the total dollar amount of pre-purchased cards! SAGE will put that toward grants for teachers and scholarships for students. Don't wait until you get there; buy today!
If you are the parent of a student who is identified as GT and would like to join SAGE, you're welcome to do that. Here is the website for that. http://gc-sage.org/join/
SAGE — Supporting and Advocating for Gifted Education — is a Grapevine/Colleyville Gifted & Talented (G/T) support group that collaborates with parents and educators to ensure that gifted children in our community reach their fullest potential.

Diversity Advisory Council (district level)
DAC facilitates the district’s mission by contributing to the purposeful education of staff, students, and community members in developing and maintaining a school climate that promotes tolerance, respect, safety, and self-worth.
The responsibilities of the DAC include providing and developing leadership in the following areas: Promote diversity and inclusion by suggesting strategies, activities and educational resources; Communicate recommendations, input, and feedback to the GCISD Administration and Board of Trustees; Advance the message and purpose of DAC through the appropriate avenues at each campus and through the community advancing inclusion.
There will be 4-6 general meetings during the year. The meetings are held after school at various locations across the district. Once the meeting dates are confirmed you will receive the schedule and members will receive calendar invitations.
