Reading Blast Off!
January is the perfect month for curling up under a blanket and reading a good book. What better time to have a Willson family reading challenge!
Each student will have a Book List sheet in their folder on Monday. The goal is to read at least five books a week with your preschooler. Simply record the titles of the books read on the Book List sheet and return it at the end of each week during the month of January. Students will also be keeping a list of books being read to them at school. The more books read with the student, the higher their rocket soars!
This family project is especially exciting because your family has a chance to win one of the eight reading baskets! There will be a winning family from each class. Students names will be entered in the raffle once book titles have been recorded (this includes books being read with the student at school). Check out our Facebook page to see each reading basket your family could win! The drawing will be live on Facebook on January 31 at 3:00.

Quick Reminders!
*Please make sure all of your child's winter gear is labeled with their name. This makes it much easier to return items to the correct student.
* No food is allowed to be on the school bus! If your child is bringing their breakfast or lunch, it must be packed and inside their backpack.
* All visitors need to use our front door which is facing Wallace Ave.* Please call the front office if your phone number or address has changed.

Child Safety in a Car Seat or Booster Seat
Indiana Law requires that all children between the ages of 4 and 8, who weigh between 21 to 65lbs, and who are less than 57 inches tall must be in a properly secured booster seat or car seat. They should be in the back seat, and forward facing.
The front seat is unsafe for children in this age range due to cars now being made with airbags that can hurt your child. It's safer in the back seat!
The State law states that a child may go from a car seat into a booster seat if they are over 30 lbs. However, state troopers recommend waiting until your child is at least 40 lbs.
Children can be out of a booster seat between ages 8 and 12, and they have to be at least 4 foot 9 inches tall. Children less than 13 years old are recommended to buckle up in the back seat as well.
Lets keep our children safe!
Thanks

Bus rider info
- Bus drivers will be calling with your scheduled time for pick up and drop off.
- Please allow 15 minutes before and after your scheduled time. The routes are different every day and when you are ready and waiting this keeps the route running smoothly.
- A parent or ADULT designated caregiver must put the child on the bus at pick up time.
- At drop off, the bus driver must be able to see a parent or ADULT designated caregiver before they will allow the child to exit the bus. If no one is there, the child will be returned to Willson Preschool and you will be called to make arrangements for pick up. If your child has not been picked up at Willson within 30 minutes, the Crawfordsville Police Department will be called.
- Please call the Bus Transportation Center if your child is not going to be riding the bus that school day. You may also leave a message.
