Staff News!
Music Substitute Teacher
In the meantime- Brett Boles has signed on to substitute. Brett is a graduate of Newtown as well as an award winning musical theater composer and lyricist. He graduated with his degree to teach music but must complete his student teaching in the spring to become certified. He can not apply for the job at this time, but ironically, can substitute teach it. He will begin Monday, 10/2.
Goal Setting (this section is in lieu of a meeting/read carefully)
Most questions regarding goals and evaluation can be answered in the Evaluation Plan which you have been emailed. You can also click here for the most updated copy of the plan.
~ You should have scheduled a Goals Meeting ~
Some Reminders:
- All paperwork MUST be in EdReflect and submitted for approval by October 10 (can still be edited as needed until 10/31). In the event more time is needed to upload paperwork- see me.
- Goal Setting Conference need to happen, be signed and closed before October 31.
- Can be collaborative, don't need to be
- Best when overlapping and/or connected (area of focus, SLO, PLC discussions, Team goal, etc)
- Areas of Focus/Student and Parent Goal must be worthy of a years worth of work, effort (detailed Action Plans)
- SLO/IAGD expectations should be high (for you and for your students)
- Beyond what you are currently doing
I have prepared a one-sheet (Goal Setting Process Overview) for you that I think will be helpful. It reviews each section that you need to fill out with suggestions and ideas strait from the Evaluation and Support Plan. It also includes THIS Year's Hawley Parent and Student Goal Focus.
As always, feel free to see me with any questions or concerns.
Food for Thought: VIDEO
This 3 minute Teaching Channel Video is time well spent. It could be helpful as we transition from giving answers to supporting and facilitating inquiry and persistance.
