Eagles Return to Learning for 2020-2021
Argyle ISD is continually monitoring the spread of COVID-19 in our city, county, and state. Texas school districts are receiving regular updates and guidance from Governor Abbott, as well as Texas Education Agency Commissioner Mike Morath regarding the opening of school. The draft plans are on the Argyleisd.com website and include instructional services information for the 2020-2021 school year.
Argyle ISD will offer in-person and virtual instruction for the 2020-2021 school year. Parents are able to choose the instructional method they prefer for their child and what works best for their family. This plan is subject to change based on the potential of additional guidance and guidelines from local officials, state officials, as well as governing agencies within the state of Texas.

Dr. Wright Joins Denton County Superintendents Requesting STAAR Suspension
The formal request was sent to Governor Greg Abbott and Texas Education Agency Commissioner Mike Morath stating the need for the state to suspend STAAR along with the A-F grading system due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
The letter states that by suspending the test and grading system it would allow schools to continue to maintain a safe and secure educational environment while allowing schools to provide quality education specific to each student's educational needs.
After schools began to close across the state in March due to COVID-19, Governor Abbott waived STAAR testing requirements for the 2019-2020 school year.
