From Your Captain
We appreciate all of our staff. It's amazing that we're entering into the 3rd six weeks. We are thankful for all that you do #AllDayEveryDay. Take time during the break to rest, recharge, and enjoy time with your friends and family.
If you are a paraprofessional working on your college degree, email me to let me know where you are in the process.
We are working on promotional materials for spring staff recruitment. We would love your input on why you love working at Alta Vista Elementary. Email me your TOP 3 reasons so we can compile a great list for recruitment. PRIZES for the first 5 staff that email me.
With Thanksgiving break upon us, it's critical to classroom management that you do a quick re-teach of classroom and school expectations when students return on Monday (even with the big kids!). This gentle reminder will help set students on the right path for the rest of the semester.
We also want to encourage you to have a classroom meeting on Monday to check-in with students. Some may have had a great break, while others may have struggled. Give them a few minutes to get things off their chest or share their excitement. It will save you time in the long run on the extra chatter.
Staff Members of the Week!
Congratulations to Mrs. Boggess for being our STAFF MEMBER OF THE WEEK. She facilitated two weeks of interim testing, set up all the laptops, and has shown incredible flexibility as we have completed this testing.
RESOURCE OF THE WEEK
Not sure where to start? This blog article has great pictures, videos, and tips. Just remember to make it your own! There is not set rule about how a classroom meeting should look, but it should include all students that are present and it should include a way for students to connect with each other.
