Amana Fifth Grade Newsletter Update
Friday, October 9, 2015
PLP notices were stapled into your child's planner today. Please check to confirm the scheduled time. If an adjustment needs to be made, please contact your child's fifth grade teacher by email.
Please see the photos of our SPARK PE all stars below. Both fifth grade classrooms displayed excellent cooperative sports(wo)manship in PE for the month of September! We are so proud of the leaders they have become!
Ms. Hess's student teacher, Mr. Karsten, will be finishing up his fifth grade teaching experience next week. He has taken over the lead role in the classroom this week allowing kids to grow in a whole new way. Please take the time to talk with your child about their experience. We will celebrate his time in our class with a small farewell party on Friday. Feel free to have your child create a card for Friday wishing him well on his future teaching experiences!
Mathematicians were pushed to their limits this week when discovering all the ways a pizza could be sliced (idiom!). Renaming fractions is challenging work and seeing how this connects to the real world becomes very important. This would be a great time to invite your child into the kitchen to use measurement with fractions in a real world setting. Happy cooking!
Learning Goals this Week
