Muskego Lakes Family Newsletter
May 15, 2020
Dear Muskego Lakes Families,
To keep you informed, the ruling from the Supreme Court earlier this week, which struck down the Safer at Home order, does not impact public or private K-12 school closures. So we will continue with virtual learning through the remainder of the school year.
That being said, we are so grateful that 339 families took the survey to share their experience with virtual learning at Muskego Lakes.
When we asked how successful remote/distance learning has been for your children (on a scale of 1- very unsuccessful to a 5- very successful), the result was 3.67.
MLMS families indicated, on average, their child spends 3.88 hours/day on their virtual learning.
1.8% of families requested our student services team reach out to their child.
When asking families to rate us (scale 1 to 5 with 5 being the highest) on “I would recommend this school” our MLMS families indicated 4.56.
In addition, we want to thank you for sharing your input on challenges you've experiences so we can adjust to better meet your needs going forward.
While learning is our #1 priority as a school, we care more about how and your child(ren) are doing than anything else. We know how imperfect this all is, and yet we appreciate your efforts to let us partner with you to make sure- first and foremost- your child is healthy (emotionally, mentally, & physically).
Please remember to reach out if you or your child are having a hard time. We are here to listen, problem solve, and support you in any way we can! Feel free to call or text or email us at (608) 628-8546 / rachel.rydzewski@muskegonorway.org & (262) 955-1274 / chad.krupar@muskegonorway.org

8th Grade Promotion Ceremony
In lieu of a ceremony, we have been working closely with our MLMS PTO. On Thursday, June 11th, we will have a drive-by opportunity between 3-6pm for our 8th graders and their families. At this time, while students will need to stay in their vehicles, they will receive their 8th grade promotion certificate, their yearbook, a QR code to a special video, and a little something from the PTO.
We will send further details as we get closer to June 11th so stay tuned.

Attention 8th Grade Families: Warriors 101 Transition Program
Each year, the Warriors 101 transition program helps support incoming freshmen by facilitating opportunities for them to meet upperclassmen, run through their class schedule, meet their teachers, tour the building, bond with peers, and learn about co-curricular opportunities at the high school. The program is planned for Wednesday, August 26th from 8am-12pm. If the current situation prevents an in-person program, there will be an alternate virtual offering. Please click here to complete registration for your student so you are kept up-to-date with program plans.
We look forward to helping your son/daughter have a smooth transition to the high school. If you have already registered, you do not need to sign up again.
Thank you for your support. We found last year's program to be a great success, and we have been working throughout this year to make further improvements. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact one of us.
