TELPAS Important Dates-It is IMPERATIVE you stick to this timeline
- Monday, Feb 13 - Deadline for new raters to complete Online Basic Training. Be sure to sign the completion roster with Ms. Rose.
- February 13-17 - Teachers in grades 2-5 will collect writing samples each day according to TELPAS schedule given out on 2-6-17.
- Wednesday, Feb. 15 – Monitored TELPAS Calibration test after school. (K-2 in computer lab 100, 3-5 in computer lab 105.) Please only bring something to write with. TELPAS manuals are not permitted. Rubrics will be provided for you.
- Wednesday, Feb. 22 - Deadline to turn in all TELPAS writing samples to your grade level lead verifier.
- Wednesday, March 1 - Last day for verifiers to return writing samples back to teachers
- Monday, March 6 - Last day to submit your TELPAS Student Rating roster to Ms. Rose. Please turn it in earlier if you finish.
Positive Communication Logs
The Admin team will also be making positive phone calls. We will choose a grade level a week. This week is PK/KINDER teachers please send an email with names of a student you would like the team to contact. (Mrs. A, Mrs. Cadet, Ms. Rose, Mrs. Whipple, Ms. Gray, Mrs. Morales, Mrs. Lara, Ms. Aldridge, Mr. Beard, Ms. Wallace).
Parents are loving the phone calls, please keep the names coming!

When you are out it is imperative that you have sub plans, or at the very minimum a SUB FOLDER
We have numerous Momentous trainings coming up, please mark your calendar. The expectation is for all staff to attend these trainings.
Please make arrangements to attend all after school meetings and trainings. The expectation is to attend all after school meetings, training, and feeder pattern meetings (i.e. job alikes, etc.) If you are unable to attend, approval from Ms. Wallace needs to be done in advance. Please let me know if you have questions.
-Please make sure you are actively monitoring during morning duty and on the playground.
***Customer service is #1, please be intentional about how you greet, and treat every person who is staff at Marcus or DISD AND anyone who enters our building. BE PROUD!!! WE ARE AWESOME!
- All in Learning and DOL Expectation:
****The expectation is that ALL staff utilize all in learning a minimum of twice weekly*****
The expectation is all staff is utilizing All in Learning, and moving towards moving assignments into the progress tracker (2 DOL's a week) and assigning a TEK from the standards.
-Please stop at the end of the day and do the "4 corner breathing" with us, and the "what I leaned, what I loved" moments, and share them!!!
- CLAY Leadership program is not optional. These volunteers have given up their time to come and teach leadership traits to our students. This is an honor! Please accept the volunteers with open arms, and assist if possible. Teachers do need to stay in the room during the lesson, try and work the trait they are discussing into your weekly teachings.
-Recess
-Friendly reminder that recess cannot be taken from a student according to district policy. Remember to utilize GoNoodle!
-Please make sure all staff members are strategically placed all around the playground area and actively monitoring during recess.

DISD Board Goals:
- All students will exhibit satisfactory or above performance on state assessments.
Students below satisfactory performance will demonstrate more than one year of
academic growth. - Dallas ISD schools will be the primary choice for families in the district.
- The achievement gap by race, ethnicity and socio-economic status will be no greater than 10 percentage points on all academic measures.
- Ninety-five percent of students will graduate. Ninety percent of the graduates will qualify for community college, college, military, or industry certification.
- Ninety-five percent of students entering kindergarten will be school-ready based on a multidimensional assessment.
- All students will participate in at least one extracurricular or co-curricular activity each year.
