Maryland was founded in 1633 by Lord Baltimore to gain a profit from land sales, farming and get religious and political freedom. We have lots land that is good for farming.
Who Founded Maryland?
Maryland is the first proprietary colony, based on a grant to Cecilius Calvert, Lord Baltimore. Maryland was named after Queen Henrietta Maria by Lord Baltimore. After Cecilius died his son, Lord Baltimore took over. Maryland is a haven for people escaping from religious persecution as planned by Lord Baltimore.
Geography
Here in Maryland we trees to build with and lots of good farmland. We have nice warm summer and mild winters so perfect weather year round. Also a big part of Maryland is right by the Chesapeake Bay so you can enjoy swimming and catch fish.
Economics
Here in Maryland there is lots of good farmland so you can have a big plantation o grow cash crops like tobacco, cotton, wheat and corn to make lots of money. Also since we have lots of trees more inland you can build ships. Also we have iron ore rich earth so you can mine and make iron products.
Government
The capital of Maryland is Baltimore. Maryland is a proprietary government which is a colony which is granted to a proprietor who has full governing rights. Don't worry, our governor, Lord Baltimore is very fair and listens to your ideas for change unlike the king. Since you don't have to worry about government, you can focus on other things like building things or looking for gold.
Religion
Here in Maryland, you can practice your religion all you want. There are a mixture of religions here in Maryland. Some of those religions include Baptists, Anglicans, Presbyterian, and Catholics.
