Christ Child Academy Newsletter
February 21, 2019
From the Desk of Mr. Ruedinger
Our annual Winter Extravaganza Celebration is this Saturday, February 23rd. We look forward to seeing all of our CCA families and friends at this fun and entertaining event. There are wonderful items to bid on, raffles to participate in, and food and drink to enjoy. Thank you in advance for coming out and supporting Christ Child Academy.
Due to the recent snow days, we will have three make-up days. There will be school on Monday, April 22nd and Friday, May 24th. The third snow day will be made up by eliminating early release Wednesdays from April 3 through June 5 and run normal school days. The bus will not be able to pickup from CCA until 3:30 pm on these Wednesdays.
Congratulations to the 5/6 Girls’ Basketball Team, who took First Place in the CCA Basketball Tournament last weekend. In addition, congratulations to the 5/6 Boys' Red Team, who took Third Place in the CCA Tournament. Alayna Lloyd and Lilly Reinl won the team free throw contest and Alayna Lloyd won the individual free throw contest. Way to go girls and boys!
CCA's Open House will be held Thursday, February 28 from 6:00 - 7:30 pm.

School Choice Update for 2019-2020
We are proud to announce Christ Child Academy is now a part of the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program through the State of Wisconsin Department of Instruction. Please visit www.dpi.wi.gov/choice for more information. The application is online only and found at www.dpi.wi.gov/choice. The application is open February 1 - April 20, 2019. Please note, the system can be slower and more difficult to get into the first few weeks of February so please be patient. The school choice program is not first come first serve so you do have time to apply. Please watch the school calendar and the newsletter for a "School Choice Lab" night to be held at CCA for any families that do not have online access. Any questions or concerns can be directed to Brenda Binversie at firstname.lastname@example.org or 920-459-2660.
School Mass & Field Trip Attire
Students are to wear their CCA polo shirts with the logo along with dress or Khaki pants or a skirt for the girls for all Mass days and on all field trips, unless otherwise denoted. Polo shirts are to be tucked in for both boys and girls for Mass. Any additional items such as sweaters or vests must have the CCA logo and be worn over the polo shirt. These additional items are available on the Land's End website. Yoga pants are not to be worn to Mass except under a skirt and in a solid color. Students volunteering at the St. Peter Claver Food Pantry are to wear Mass attire as this is considered an off-site field trip.
2018-2019 Annual Fund Appeal Update
This year, we have added a new feature for your convenience. We have partnered with GoFundMe to accept online donations for our Annual Fund Appeal. Click on the banner below to donate!
Safeguarding All God's Family
If parents or grandparents plan to participate in field trips, work in the lunchroom, coach, or help out at school, you must attend a Safeguarding All God’s Family training through the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. You must register on-line at www.archmil.org and indicate you are associated with Christ Child Academy. If you have not previously been trained, now is a great time to attend a session.
Box Tops for Education
CCA can earn money from clipping Box Tops found on various products. When you buy items, simply clip the Box Top and bring it to CCA. The Box Tops are submitted, and our school receives a check which is used towards our activity fund. It’s another easy way for you to help the school by purchasing the products you already use! Enlist your family, friends and neighbors to collect the Box Tops, too.
Kwik Trip Milk Moola
CCA will receive 5¢ (five cents) for each cap or milk bag top they redeem from Nature’s Touch® products. The program will only accept specially marked caps and bag tops that feature the Milk Moola symbol. Thank you to Paula Hilbert, who has been overseeing this program for many years!
