District Goal: WE empower all students to achieve post-high school success.
WE welcome students, staff, parents and families to the 2019-2020 school year!
As a District, WE have a lofty goal. WE empower all students to achieve post-high school success. Students deserve to be prepared with the academic skills, confidence and work ethic to be successful when they leave our high schools. The Beaverton community’s success depends on our students’ success.
Please join us this year in helping us all achieve our goal! From volunteering to engaging your child in their learning, you can make a difference!
Online Registration & Back-to-School Verification Continues
New student registration and current student verification can be completed online. Our Online Registration webpage, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), Parent Video, are available to help you through the process.
Back-to-School Verification is now available! BSD parents and guardians have the ability to verify their child(ren)'s enrollment information through the parent portal, ParentVUE. Verification of enrollments can now be completed online each year. Feel free to watch a helpful video to help you through the process.
Schoolcafe Registration & Meal Benefits
Registration for Schoolcafe for 2019-2020 began on July 1st. Schoolcafe allows you to make payments to your student's lunch account, apply for free/reduced lunch meal benefits, view monthly lunch menus and receive low balance alerts.
Click here to enroll in the Beaverton School District School Cafe online system.
Visit the BSD Meal Benefits page to view more information on meal benefits, pricing and charging procedures.
You can help prepare your child for lunch in the cafeteria, by practicing their pin number. The pin number is the same as your child's student ID number which you can access via ParentVue following registration.
During peak hours, we have approximately 247 Beaverton School District buses on routes. Our District uses a four-tier bell system to optimize use of our buses. This means, each route (bus) serves multiple building types in the morning and in the afternoon (option schools, high schools, elementary schools, and middle schools) as well as curricular and extra-curricular activity trips. On average, each route has approximately 37 students aboard and makes six stops. The average time per stop for non-wheelchair stops is less than 30 seconds.
School buses REDUCE traffic congestion by removing passenger vehicles. According to the American School Bus Council, nationally, school buses keep more than 17 million cars off the road each year. One school bus is the equivalent of 36 cars. This translates into an approximate annual savings of 62 billion miles of driving, 2.6 billion gallons of fuel, and 56.5 billion pounds of carbon dioxide reduction in the air we breathe!
School buses are the safest way to travel to and from school. According to NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), for the period 2005 through 2014, 57% of youth fatalities during school travel hours were attributed to teen drivers; 23% were attributed to adult drivers, 19% we attributed to other forms of travel; less than 1% were attributed to school bus travel. Students are 70 times more likely to get to school safely if they take the school bus instead of traveling by car.*

Volunteering in the Beaverton School District
Volunteers are critical to the success of our students and our schools. With more than 41,000 students in 53 schools, there are many ways a volunteer can help. Volunteers can help tutor or mentor a student, assist in the library or cafeteria, help with school beautification projects, judge a science fair, help coach a team and much more.
All volunteers need to complete an application and background check. Once the background check is cleared, a volunteer profile will be created. Through myimpactpage.com, volunteers can update personal information, view and sign-up for open volunteer needs, and communicate directly with the school Volunteer Coordinator.
Volunteers will be able to use this profile from their first volunteer activity to their last.
For directions for creating a profile with myvolunteerpage, visit the Beaverton School District Volunteering webpage.
