Parent Weekly Newsletter: - March 4th thru 8th 2024
We are down to 10 school days until Spring Break (not that anyone is counting).
Some parents at Stepping Stone have expressed frustration about our parents parking in their parking lot at dismissal to pick up Barton students. Please be respectful of Stepping Stone and the parents of little kiddos that need to safely pick up their kids.

BARTON WISH LIST
Amazon Campus Wishlist:
Parents we want to sincerely thank you from all of our Bobcat staff and students for the generous donations we have received through our Amazon wish list! We have fully stocked ball carts for our free time outside at lunch and classrooms have been stocked with headphones, notebooks, pencils, escape room supplies and so much more!!! Here are a few more things we need as we transition to our new semester:
- Lanyards have been a popular request by students who happen to need new ID's
- Composition notebooks are a must this time of year as teachers frequently replace student notebooks and students begin new classes
- Candy & Prizes! Our teachers gave out over 500, yes FIVE HUNDRED, positive referrals last semester and we are looking to top that this semester! Help us stock up our positive referral cart (or even buy us a new cart located on our wish list)

Thanks so much to the families and friends of BMS that have donated so far it is greatly appreciated!
D.C./NYC 8th Grade Trip
Any current 8th Grader signed up to attend our D.C./NYC Trip for this 2024 summer will need to attend a parent meeting in the library on February 1st at 6:00 PM. We will go over rooming arrangements, pick our Broadway show, and finalize any further information needed for the trip. We cannot wait to see you and your parent there!
Parents with travelers still interested in the trip, this is a last call for any students or parents that wish to join us on our Washington D.C./NYC 8th Grade trip June 2nd through June 7th! We have a few more spots left on our bus and if you are interested prices are locked in for a little longer!
90% Attendance Rule
EVERY SCHOOL DAY, EVERY CLASS MATTERS!
Showing up for school has a huge impact on a student’s academic success starting in Kindergarten and continuing through high school. Missing 10 percent, or about 18 days, of the school year can drastically affect a student's academic success.

COATS FOR STUDENTS
We have been donated coats for any student at Barton that might need one. We will give them to any student that is in need, free. They are nice down jackets. Please email Ms. Templer, at Cindy.Templer@hayscisd.net if you need a coat for your child.
