Celebrating Victories, Large and Small
As we approach the month of November we are reminded that we are truly blessed by the continuum of sacrifices our armed services have made and battles they have fought in to preserve our way of life. This year we, as a district, are celebrating our veterans through video. Veterans Day 2021 will be recognized by the students and performers in our buildings from throughout the district. Our high school students will watch this video on November 11th during their homeroom period. The video will be shared with the other schools for their viewing. We will push out the video through our messaging system and post it on the District website.
Please join us as we celebrate Veterans Day, make certain that you thank a veteran every day!
The month of November also means the end of our first marking period. We celebrate the little victories our students and staff have had. The past year and a half of the pandemic has taken a toll on everyone. But from this, we have had a chance to experience the opportunity for resilience. We need to celebrate the students who picked up where they left off, accelerated, and showed leadership in our building. We need to acknowledge those who have struggled but have shown growth. We need to keep on battling not to lose one student who feels like giving up. I am thankful for the staff we have and the efforts they have put forth during this time of adjustment and adaptation. We need to celebrate the small and large victories and give each student the opportunity to reach their potential.
I thank veterans for allowing us to work with kids and their sacrifice that allowed for our kid’s promise for future
Yours in Education,
Ken Szczepanski, High School Principal
