La Center United is thrilled to announce we have received a renewal for our Drug-Free Communities grant. This grant will help fund initiatives through La Center United to continue to offer and promote activities, support, information, and more that assist in creating a drug-free, healthy, and resilient community. In Their Shoes - Virtual Edition

Thursday, February 4

From WSCADV: “In Their Shoes is designed for experiential learning about teen dating violence. Participants become one of six characters based on the experiences of real teens including sexting, pregnancy, homophobia, and stalking. They make choices about their relationship and move through the scenario by reading about interactions with their dating partner, family, friends, counselors, police, and others.” Experience In Their Shoes followed up with a debrief of the activity.

Protecting Young People from E-cigarette Usage

"E-cigarettes came onto the market in the United States in 2007, and by 2014, they were the tobacco product most often used by youth. In 2020, about 3.6 million youth nationwide reported currently using e-cigarettes, including 1 in 5 high school students."
