National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month
September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month — a time to raise awareness on this stigmatized, and often taboo, topic. In addition to shifting public perception, we use this month to spread hope and vital information to people affected by suicide. Our goal is ensuring that individuals, friends and families have access to the resources they need to discuss suicide prevention and to seek help.
The week of September 13-17, 2021 has been designated as National Suicide Prevention Week at CAST Med High School. This campaign was initiated to bring awareness about the problems of suicide; to provide information about suicide prevention and to become familiar with the warning signs of suicide. At CAST Med High School, the following activities will occur:
● We will begin the week by making daily announcements and taking a school wide suicide pledge during morning announcements.
● Selected students will recite daily quotes(suicide statistics, facts, myths, suicide hotline & school resources).
● Classroom presentations will be provided to the students on the topic of suicide prevention.
● Suicide links and hotline will be posted in designated areas in the school.
P3 Campus is an anonymous tip reporting solution developed specifically for K-12 schools. It is a vital tool in keeping schools and students safe. Students can report about a wide range of concerns from bullying to suicide threats or threats of violence

THIS MONTH'S CHARCTER PILAR - FAIRNESS
Fairness is another tricky concept, probably more subject to legitimate debate and interpretation than any other ethical value. Disagreeing parties tend to maintain that there is only one fair position (their own, naturally). But essentially fairness implies adherence to a balanced standard of justice without relevance to one’s own feelings or inclinations.
