Are You Using All Of Your Resources?
Are you using all of the resources available to you?
Are you attending power hour, even if you have a C or better in your classes?
All teachers have office hours (unless assigned to lunch duty). If you want to get extra help with a concept or assignment, check with your teacher and utilize this opportunity during the school day.
Are you completing your assignments with full effort?
At this time of the year it is often tempting to rush through assignments/projects just to get them completed and turned in. Too many of these will impact your grade. Resist doing this and put in the extra time. It's worth it!
What kind of independent test preparation are you doing?
Just because you don't have anything "due" doesn't mean you don't have homework. That next test is often just a few days away. Time spent reviewing for exams is extremely important. Also, spreading out your studying over three to four days can have a big impact on your test results. Finally, check with your teachers, they often have great test preparation advice for their specific subjects.
Do you need to see your counselor?
*Important information for students when scheduling appointments during the school day*
Making an appointment online reserves that time slot, but you still need to bring a paper pass with you to the office. Paper passes are available in the counseling office (counseling staff can verify that you made the appointment) or you can request the pass from a teacher. Students are always required to have a pass when they leave the classroom.
Here are the links to make an appointment with a counselor:

It's Time To Talk About West-MEC!!
WHAT IS WEST-MEC?
Western Maricopa Education Center (West-MEC) is a public school district dedicated to providing innovative career and technical education (CTE) programs that prepare students to enter the workforce and pursue continuing education.
West-MEC CTE programs provide students opportunities to earn college credit and industry credentials.
West-MEC Central Programs:
West-MEC gives high school students a faster way forward through career and technical education (CTE) courses. Students spend part of their day learning their core subjects at a public, charter, private, or home school, then take their career training program at a West-MEC or partner campus.
Students are encouraged to attend on of the open house events at the various campuses to see the program up close, ask questions and even complete the West-MEC Application.
Click the West-MEC link for information.
The pdf below connects you to specific "Open House" information. Programs offerings are different at each campus.
