Foreign Effects on Latin America
Many Latin American countries were very against U.S. interference in their countries. America's control over the Panama Canal acted as a symbol of power in the area. So, in 1977 President Jimmy Carter signed treaties so that Panama would have control over the Panama by 2000.
His Performance as President In My Opinion
President Carter did a very good job handling this event. Latin America was unhappy with the United States, and so he fixed this by giving them what they wanted. And he did this without compromising trade routes or affecting any trade, or importing and exporting concerning the United States
