Camp Hosp
Every Hall Is Home
It Has Finally Arrived!
We can't believe it, but it is here! We are so excited to get going.
For nearly the past year we have been planning and working for this moment. Countless meetings, research, articles, data analysis, visits to Lee Elementary, emails with principals around the country, and more meetings.
All for tomorrow.
All for digging deeper than ever before to serve our students, staff, and community.
We got a glimpse of how great our house system will be last night. Siblings next door to each other, first graders meeting fifth grade teachers, and a true feeling of family.
It was my 20th Meet The Teacher and simply the best one I have ever been apart of.
We also learned some things we can change to make next year's even better. We know there will be a lot of those moments as we work through the bumps.
If you want to learn more about our House System please check our website.
Day One Arrival
If you are walking your student in, please DO NOT PARK IN CARPOOL. Many parents are still dropping off. If you are new to Hosp, we have the worst parking situation in all of FISD. If you can walk from home please do. Not only will you enjoy the beautiful sunshine, you will avoid the parking frustration.
When you come in the building you will walk your student to their class, take the picture and then we will get started. For kindergarten parents the Hosp PTA will host the 5th Annual Tears and Cheers in the library. Come grab a snack and get to know other Hosp parents.
Day one is a lot of learning the Hosp Way for your students. This is part of the reason we don't allow visitors until the second full week of school starting August 27th. At that point you can come up whenever to have lunch with your student unless it is a STAAR/Testing Day.
Day One Dismissal
CarPool
We have made some minor changes to dismissal. Red House and Yellow House will be picked up at the playground doors (former 4/5 area). Blue and Orange Houses will be picked up at the back of Pod 2 (former 2/3 area). Green and Purple House will be picked up outside Pod 3 (former K/1).
The first 5-10 days it is going to take a very, very, long time. Really long. Bring a book. Perhaps a snack. You will be in line for awhile. We anticipate the first few days that it will take 30-40 minutes. However, we are taking the time to learn our students, routines and keep them safe.
After that we start getting quicker and within two weeks we will have dismissal down to 10 minutes.
We appreciate your patience!
Walkers
All walkers will exit out of Pod 3. We do this to utilize our crossing guards and to keep our students safe. Students must check out with their teacher before leaving. Again, this will take some time as we learn students and parents. If you student is free to walk home without a parent, please email your teacher.
Bus Riders
All bus riders will load from the cafe onto the buses near the playground. Buses must be loaded and exited before we allow the Red/Yellow carpool to exit. This is an FISD policy for safety reasons.
Day Care
Day care students are picked up from the cafe doors. Please do not park illegalling in the front cafe parking. This will block the daycare loading area.
YMCA/Alphabest
Teachers will walk them to their respected area after school.
ALL STUDENTS WILL BE ESCORTED TO THEIR AREA BY A TEACHER. THEY ARE NOT EXPECTED TO FIND THE WAY ON THEIR OWN.

This handout is your resource for how things work related to dismissal, visitors, My Payments Plus, lunch times, and so on. You'll refer to this often.
We can't wait to see you tomorrow!
