Arkansas Alpha Delta Kappa
December 2019
Dear Sisters,
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! A busy time for sure for most of us, whether we’re in or out of the classroom. All of us are probably already worn out from Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday, but I am going to remind you of another opportunity to say good-bye to some money!! What?? This investment has the absolute best return of anything I’ve ever heard of. What is it? It is our own Alpha Delta Kappa Foundation. The Foundation is a 501c3 charitable organization. Since this is the last month of the year, also it is time to make charitable contributions to have for your 2019 tax forms. PLEASE REMEMBER THE MEMO LINE IF YOU WANT TO DESIGNATE WHERE YOU WOULD LIKE YOUR DONATION TO GO, if you send a check, you can also donate online, be sure to say where you want your donation to go. For example, write Arkansas, or disaster, or use for Foundation. By the way, don’t forget to tell your family and friends that they may also donate to the Foundation. This way you know your charitable contribution is helping your sisters. Don’t forget to include this on your altruism report. It is the holiday season, giving and getting go hand in hand. Kindness given in any form, a donation, a smile, or a drop in a little red bucket. Kindness is never forgotten or overlooked. It has an instant feedback, a warm and fuzzy for the soul.
I prayer you have a wonderful December celebrating the holidays with family and friends. No matter what your religion I know this time of year is special for all. May the season bring only Happiness and Joy to you and your loved ones and may you have safe travels.

Treasurers
· Dues are due Jan 1, 2020 and are delinquent after Jan. 31. There is a charge per member $5, if received after Jan. 31
· As far as I know, dues are still $40 International and $15 state with an additional $20 ITE payment per chapter.
· I still have not received a copy of the IRS 990-N (epostcard) from the following 6 chapters:
Psi, Upsilon,Xi, Alpha Mu, Alpha Nu and Alpha Psi. I have contacted these chapters once along with other chapters that sent a copy to me. Nowhere does it say, to send a copy to me but we have always done this to ensure that each chapter filed the report by Oct. 15. I realize that with this year what it has been, the treasurers sent me a copy and I did not print it off. Sorry.
· State chapter dues are sent to Carolyn Melton 185 Jackson Ave, Mayflower, AR 72106
World Understanding Project
Teach Too has met the $50,000 goal, but you can still donate through mid-October. The new projects for consideration will be announced in March. We will vote on them at the Regional Conference next summer or you can vote online.
State Altruistic Project
We are still collecting donations for the Ronald McDonald House “Heart as a Legacy of Hope” in Little Rock. Any money left after the heart is purchased will go to the Arkoma Ronald McDonald Houses in Fayetteville, Rogers, and Fort Smith. We have already collected $1,780.00. The Little Rock Heart costs $1,000.00, so we are working toward donations to the other Ronald McDonald Houses now. Awesome sisters!!!!

ATTENTION HISTORIANS by Patty Snipes, State Historian
As Historians I hope you’ve been taking lots of pictures of your chapter. I am working on the archives for our State President, Chanetta Case. She would like to have a page or two representing your chapter. I have given you a sample of a design. I used PowerPoint which would be fine for you to use unless you have another program you are comfortable with.
Be sure to include: list of officers, picture of your group, picture of your officers, pictures of some of your meetings or pictures of doing Altruistic projects.
3 options to send them:
1. If you are not comfortable with PowerPoint or using a computer and would rather create a page on scrapbook paper you can mail it to me. 8 ½ x 11.
Patty Snipes, 120 Taylor Park Loop, LR, AR, 72211
2. You can mail me the pictures with captions or names attached.
3. Email information to me – plsnipes@sbcglobal.net
Please get this to me ASAP or at least by January. Start planning what you want on the page to represent your chapter.
