Abbett All-Star Article

Welcome Back!

We have had a wonderful start back this week! Thank you for starting off with a bang and keeping the kids engaged in meaningful learning. I loved being back in classrooms and providing feedback to each of you. If you are like me, it has been tough getting up in the mornings and easy falling asleep at night!

For some kiddos here at Abbett, getting back into the swing of things can be tough. The following article has some good insight into helping kids in poverty transition to stability here at school. Happy Reading!

Love that Abbett All-Star Spirit!

Don't forget the Twitter challenge! Social media is a great place to share all the wonderful things that are happening in your classroom! When your team all has twitter accounts and is "tweeting", let me know and the prize will be determined!

The following article is a great reminder of how to transform teaching and learning and the importance of teaching kids how to think! I hope it inspires you like it has inspired me!

Lesson Plans 2016

I have seen many of you using the hands-on, engaging lessons provided through SchoolNet and various resources. We all know the best teaching, learning, and designing comes from a variety of books, blogs, and research. Since the calendar on SchoolNet can be a little tricky, I am not requiring you to schedule lessons on the calendar. Some grade levels have chosen to use a shared google doc that is also shared with me so that we can see your plans for the week. Other teachers are uploading to the shared drive or sending me the word document. I am flexible with how you document your plans, but I need to know where your plans are, so please send me an email with the location of your plans. Small group and differentiation should be noted in these plans as well. We will talk more about this at the PLC meeting on Friday.
