I have several meeting and I need to finish with MSTEP. If you would like, you could show some of the Kid President Video. Most of his work is on Youtube.

Luncheon From Anne Hannah

Anne Hannah is hosting a luncheon on May 26th for all staff. She is having Chartwell cater the event. I think she said it would be a potato bar. She wants to express her appreciation to the staff of Klager. Mark your calendars.:)

Leader in Me

It is survey time!

I need every person in our school to fill out the Leader in Me staff survey. We need data, positive or negative, about how the Leader in Me works in our district. You don't need to be trained to fill out the survey. I have the link here and I have made several QR codes that can be used for easy access. I will send the survey to all of the parents at Klager. I would really appreciate adding something to newsletters to encourage parent response. I do have a paper copy of the survey if you think any parent would response using this format.

Staffing Changes

We have had two staffing changes. Elyse Mackenzie and Jeff Waters are swapping lunch supervision positions. We are lucky to have Elyse, who is CPI trained, join us outside for lunch recess. Monday will be a crazy day with subs and changes so any support and smiles would be appreciated as we transition. We will miss Jeff, but we know that the will do well at the Middle School.

We have also swapped Theresa Phelps-Daves and Mellissa Dunny for a few weeks.

Fifth Grade Orientation

The Middle school will host an orientation for upcoming fifth-grade students on June 1st.

Walk to School/Bike to School

The bike to school campaign was successful, we had close to ten bikers and 50 plus student walkers. The Safe Routes to school campaign continues to encourage the student to walk or bike to school any day, not just Wednesday.

Jeff Wallace and Kathy O'Mara continue to keep the grant alive and the students walking to school. This program was recently honored at the See what Michigan is Made of Event: Governor's Fitness Awards held at Cobo Arena. They represented the 5 Healthy Towns as they received the Active Community Award.
