A thankful message from Ms. Lana and Ms. René

As we enter into our Thanksgiving break and take the time to reflect, we wanted to share some of the things we are grateful for. Our school is lucky to have incredible individuals who come together to make it great. We are thankful for our students who come to school every day ready to learn. They remind us each day of why we, and our teachers, are in this profession. We are thankful for the teachers, assistants, instructional coach, school counselor, special education coordinator, office staff, support staff, Board of Directors, founders, MAPA, and therapists who enthusiastically contribute so much to our school and have the best interests of our students at heart. We are thankful for our community members who have been there for us in times of need.

Above all, we are thankful for you, our parents, who trust us with your most valuable possessions. You continue to work hard and advocate to be a partner in your children’s education, safety and well-being. For this, we are so very thankful.

We would like to wish all of you and your families a happy, healthy and relaxing Thanksgiving break.

With gratitude,

Ms. Lana and Ms. René

Thanksgiving Break

Monday, Nov. 19th, 8am to Friday, Nov. 23rd, 3pm

Enjoy the break with family and friends. We will see you back at school on Monday, November 26th, 2018 at 8:15am!

Ogden Electric Lights Parade

November 24th is the annual Ogden Electric Lights Parade. Our school will be represented and the marketing committee has come up with a float that will represent MMA.

We are looking for students from MMA who would like to be part of our parade! The meeting place will be in front of the Ogden Temple. The parade starts promptly at 5:30pm. The floats will be lined up at 5pm.

Students 12 years and younger must ride in the trailer or truck. If your student is over the age of 12, then they may walk next to the float. Students who ride or walk will be carrying white peace signs or holding tea lights. All students will need to sign up to participate. Waivers will need to be signed at our meeting place, the Ogden temple.

The parade starts on 22nd and Washington and then ends at 27th. The marketing committee advises our MMA parents whose child(ren) are in the parade park towards the end of the parade so when we are done you can find your child.

We have some, but if your child would like to wear glow necklaces and bracelets during the parade we highly suggest the more the better! (It is a light parade!) the glow wear is also our symbol to honor Troy and Molly Cox.

If you have any questions you can email Ms. Autumn ( or Ms. Kaley (

Cultural Festival

We hope you enjoyed your journey through the United States! It was such a joy to see the students share their knowledge of decades, colonies, fashion, inventions, etc.

Parent Education Night

Thursday, Dec. 6th, 5:30-6:30pm

Mark your calendars for an exciting, educational evening. Our teachers have heard you and understand that you would like more knowledge about what Montessori looks, sounds, and feels like, how it can benefit you and your child, and a better connection to some of its vocabulary. We will host a night with two prime topics being featured: Grace and Courtesy (Communication, Independence, Movement, and Self-Discipline) and The Benefits of Montessori (How it differs from traditional schooling). After a short discussion of the two topics all together in the small gym, we will break out into the two topics. We look forward to seeing you all there! Any questions can be directed to or An RSVP would be greatly appreciated.

RSVPs are enabled for this event.

Feast of Ages Play

The Junior High theater classes are excited to announce their first play this year, Feast of Ages. Be on the lookout for more information after the break. Tickets will go on sale and can be purchased in the office starting the week of November 26th. The play will be held at MMA in the large gym on December 12th and 13th.

Carpool Safety

The best way we can honor Troy and Molly is to prevent another tragedy. Please drive safely and consciously through carpool and all around our school. Please drive slowly, under the speed limit even, around MMA. Please obey traffic signs and the directions of our volunteer crossing guards. Do not be on your phone. Looking down at the phone on your lap also counts as distracted driving. Please model safe behavior and only cross the road and across the parking lots using the crosswalks. Please only drop children off at the spots designated in the MMA carpool plan and not along any road.

Please drive like the lives of your children and other's depend on it - because it does.

Dropping Off Lunches

If your child forgets their lunch and you drop it off at school for them, please place it on the bottom shelf under the sign-in computer in the lobby. Please ensure that your child's name and teacher is written on it. You can borrow a sticky note from the office to label the item. Our staff will deliver all of these items at once around 11:15am. Thanks for your cooperation!

The weather is changing...

Please make sure your student is coming to school with appropriate clothing. The season is changing fast which means temperatures are dropping. Please check the lost and found for any missing items.

Parent Survey

We would love your feedback as change only comes when we know where we can improve. Please take the survey. If you would like to be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card, please take a screenshot of the completed survey and send it to

Track it Forward & Volunteering

We are a community school and we request that all families volunteer at least 40 hours per school year, cumulatively between all family members. MAPA utilizes a online program called Track it Forward to advertise school events, opportunities to volunteer, and to calculate each family's progress toward meeting the goal of 40 hours. You can even get to it on your smart phone.
