Bluejay Bulletin
March 5th Newsletter
Bryan Families,
We are turning the corner into the 4th quarter at the end of next week. In the 4th quarter, we have some very fun and exciting things happening for our students. We are hoping to begin to reengage some of our community partners and provide opportunities for students to end the year on a positive note. As I look at our calendar, it is going to be a busy spring! Below are dates and basic information. More details can be found in the flyers in the newsletter.
Report Cards - 3rd quarter Report Cards will be sent home with students on Friday, March 19th.
Classroom Volunteers - We want to provide opportunities for parent volunteers to support classrooms through materials preparation and planning. Please email dlvanroy@mpsomaha.org if you are interested in learning about options.
Watch D.O.G.S. - We have opportunities to have a Watch D.O.G.S. help us at lunch on Wednesday’s. See information below.
Fun Run - Our students loved the Fun Run last year, so we made some COVID protocol adjustments to be able to offer it this spring. We will kick-off on March 17th with an event date of March 29th. Unfortunately, this will not be a community event. See information below.
1 School 1 Book - During the month of April, we will read the book Wishtree by Katherine Applegate in classrooms. We are planning school wide events around the positive messages in this book. In May, we will send home a book for families to read to reinforce these positive messages.
End of Year Assessments - As the dates approach, we will be sending out more details. Our testing window for NSCAS testing of 3rd-5th graders is March 30th-April 30th. Our testing window for MAP testing of K-5th graders is May 3rd-May 14th.
Kindergarten Round-up - If you have or know of a 2021-2022 kindergarten student, please register or remind them to register. Kindergarten Round-up is scheduled for May 7th. See information below.
Finally, please remember that Spring Break moved into April this year, April 5th to April 9th.
Best,
Jimmy Feeney III
Principal
