From the nurse...
We have seen an increased number of illnesses in our school district this year. The following are tips recommended by the Kansas Department of Health to help prevent the spread of germs and to help your child stay healthy. Parents can teach their child good hygiene by setting a good example.
1. Wash your hands often:
a. before or after eating or cooking
b. after using the bathroom
c. after sneezing or coughing into them,
d. after touching animals
e. after touching anything dirty
2. Bathe daily to keep your body clean.
3. Wash your hair frequently.
4. Keep your teeth and gums healthy.
5. Wear clean clothes daily.
6. Keep nails trimmed and clean.
Remember, good hygiene helps you look and feel your best and prevents illness.

I have been a nurse for 34 years, 10 years in the public health field, specifically in the area of child health,a health educator, and served in my present position as District Nurse for the last 20 of those years.
In my position as District Nurse, it allows me to do the two things I love best, be a nurse and have family time. While my job does have what I like to refer to as 'challenges and opportunities' , I enjoy the variety in my job and there is never a dull day! Not many people can say they love their jobs and look forward to going to work everyday but I am very lucky because I can!
I believe our district has the best staff, faculty and students to work with!
I am a long time resident of Concordia. I have been married for 45 years, my husband is the Supervisor for One Gas. We have 3 married children, 8 grandchildren and a dog named Bill.
Our children are considered to be successful products of the USD #333 school system. All three are college graduates and successful in their fields. I am excited to now have one grandson attending CES.
I truly feel I am blessed to have the job I do and to be trusted with the care of our PK-12th grade students.
