What is The #BlackLivesMatter movement and why is it important?
The #BlackLivesMatter movement all began because of recent events. These events were the shootings by police officers on people of the black race. These people who have been hurt or even killed by white police officers have been to no harm to the police officers when they were shot. This movement have been very controversial because the police have used unnecessary force on the black race and the black race has seen this as a racial attack. This feeling of threat on the black race has lead to protests against police officers by multiple races to try and get themselves heard about their feelings on this unnecessary force. There has also been violent riots that have broke out because of the police officers unnecessary actions. The #BlackLivesMatter movement is still a huge controversy today.
What are the Republican's and Donald Trump planning on doing with the #BlackLivesMatter movement?
Trump and the Republicans have some plans on the The #blackLIvesMatter movement but Trump really does not want to help it. When he was asked about it, he laughed at the subject and said he thinks it is destroying our country. He wants to get rid of it as soon as possible. Although, the Republicans in Congress plan on making jobs for black people, getting rid of poverty for black people, and making police reforms.
What does Hillary Clinton and the Democrats plan on doing with the #BlackLivesMatter movement?
The Democrats are very different from the Republicans and Trump. This is because Clinton highly supports the movement and was very upset by the events that occurred with the police using unnecessary force on the black race. She even called it a tragedy. She plans on fixing tis problem with the polices current actions. Clinton and the Democrats in Congress plan on making reforms on criminal justice, like reducing many drug sentences and racial minorities. Also, they plan on embracing the movement and plan on meeting and listening to the activists in small groups so they can make appropriate changes that the people agree with.
Clinton:
"There has to be a reckoning, But I also think there has to be some positive vision and plan that you van move people too."
Trump:
"Jobs can solve so many problems, and were going to open our country and we're going to be a huge jobs producer again instead of having terrible jobs"
Other Presidential Candidates thoughts?
Stein: She supports the movement and she wants to end white supremacy and racism in all ways. Her campaign has been closely working with the Black Lives Matter movement.
Johnson: He had a slow start on the movement but he is supporting the Black Lives Matter movement. "... My heads been in the sand on this."
Organizations helping and hurting the #BlackLivesMatter movement?
Helping: Currently, one of the biggest movement groups out there is the Black Lives Matter Network. They are all over the U.S. gathering donations and gaining people on the movement of the #BlackLivesMatter.
Hurting: There are no current organizations against the #BlackLivesMatter movement but Police forces still say they were harmed by the people shot and that it was not because they were of the black race.
My thoughts....
I believe the shootings of the police force on people of the black race was very wrong and upsetting to me. But, I also don't want violent protests to occur killing other people or cops because of the issue. I believe that there should be only peaceful protests like there are and I believe thats all it takes to get the word out. I believe the new President should definitely support the movement and make some reforms in the police force that will hopefully prevent anymore issues from happening. Lastly, I believe that the new President should listen to what the people have to say about this movement to make the best adjustments possible for the country.
