Dear Central Road Families:

It is hard to believe how quickly the month of October has been flying by. Students has been engaged in both academic and social-emotional learning this week. The weather has been a bit unpredictable so thank you for sending our students dressed for both in and outdoor learning and fun. We appreciate you taking the time to read and review our weekly communication. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out for support and/or clarification. Please enjoy the weekend with family and friends. We will see our students back at school on Monday, October 24th.

Central Road's Fall Dance-Sponsored by our PTA

Join us for a night of dancing and fun! Come out and celebrate the fall season with us from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, 10/28/22 in CR’s very own gym & multipurpose room. Costumes welcome, or come as you are! FREE ADMISSION - Safe family fun for all. Students are expected to come with an adult and should not be dropped off. Pizza, popcorn, drinks, and candy will be available for cash purchase. Let’s celebrate fall with fun!

Fall Book Fair

The book fair is coming and we are excited to host one this fall. The book fair begins on Halloween, Monday, October 31st and runs until Friday, November 4th.

Preview Day is on Monday 10/31, Shopping Days on Tuesday-Friday. You will be helping the kids select books they may want to purchase and/or processing payment on the cash register. If you are able to take a bit of time out of your busy schedule to help out at our school book fair, we would really appreciate it! Thank you, Mrs. Marino and the PTA Book Fair Committee

Halloween-Monday, October 31st

We are excited to celebrate Halloween again in a more typical fashion this school year. Please kindly take a moment to review our plan and expectations for Monday, October 31, 2022. Please also note that candy and food will not be provided nor shared. We look forward to a memorable and fun celebration!


2:30-2:45 pm-Students will parade outside in their costumes. Parents are welcome to view the parade on the outside field. This is weather permitting ONLY and will not be rescheduled outdoors if we experience inclement weather.


2:45-3:45 pm-Classroom Halloween Parties will take place which are sponsored and organized by our PTA and our parent volunteers. Only parents who are signed up to help with classroom parties will be allowed to participate. Students will be dismissed from school at 3:55 pm. Please note that our classroom parties will be activity and game based. Food will not be provided.


Morning kindergarten (ONLY) parade will take place around 10:50 am with the classroom party beginning at 11:00 am. School dismissal will be at 11:50 am like typical on Monday, October 31st.


Students are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes to school for the day. We have moved away from students changing during the noon hour or going home to do so. We look forward to students being able to wear their Halloween and/or fall gear for the day at school. Please review and follow the below guidelines when choosing a costume this year. Comfort is always key as well!

1st Trimester Information

Our first triemester will officially end on Friday, November 4th for students in grades 1-6. Progress reports/report cards will be issued for parent viewing on Friday, November 18th. Parent-Teacher Conferences will be taking place on Monday, November 21st from 12:00-8:00 pm and on Tuesday, November 22nd from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Please reach out to your child's classroom teacher to set up a conference if you have not done so already. We truly value our home-school connections and look forward to communicating with families on student progress.

Message to Grade 6 Families

We are excited to offer the opportunity for our 6 th graders to order their very own class t-shirt. Our students can wear them proudly and show their school spirit during their last year at Central Road. T-shirts are $8.50 each and will include each graduate's first name signed inside the CR letters. Please note that ordering a class t-shirt is not required. If your family needs assistance with purchasing a t-shirt, please reach out to Jackie Manola (email below). Please return the order form and payment to school by November 4.
