Instructional Survey for 3rd 9 Weeks
Families who would like to change their student's instructional choice for the third nine-week grading period can access the Instructional Choice Change Request Form in the Aeries Parent/Student Portal from November 12-19. The link to the survey is below.
Please note that if you have multiple students, the form will need to be submitted for each of your students individually, if you would like to request a change from In-Person to Remote@KISD or Remote@KISD to In-Person for each student. Step 3 of the instructions below will detail how to switch between students.
It is recommended that this process is completed using a laptop or computer; however, mobile tips are provided in the instructions for those who would prefer to complete the process from a mobile device.

In-Person Students and Devices
Hello BES families,
With Tech Night coming up this Thursday, November 19, in-person students will be bringing their school issued devices home with them. Now that cases have been issued, we would like to offer students the ability to begin taking home devices on a regular basis if so needed. Because of this, we will be allowing school issued devices to go home with students over Thanksgiving Break as a test to see how well it goes before allowing it on a daily basis. If you would like your student to take their device home over Thanksgiving Break, then they will need to bring the device back to school Friday, November 20th for use in the classroom, and then can take it home with them again Friday after school. If a device is lost or broken over the holiday, the student will not be able to take any other school devices home for the year. Below are some tips to help keep the school device safe over the break!
- Keep the device at home. Do not take it on any trips or other houses over the break.
- Remember that the device belongs to Bluebonnet and it is for school use only. Do not put any personal accounts or games on the school devices. This can cause issues when they come back to school.
- If you want the student to practice using the device responsibly at home, let them use it for Dreambox, RAZ-Kids, Epic!, or any other school app recommended by the teacher.
- Charge the device at night to get students in the habit of keeping their devices charged for the next school day.
- Any cleaning of the device must be done with a soft, preferably microfiber cloth that has been sprayed before using on the device. Please do not spray directly onto the device or use Lysol wipes as they can leave liquid that can damage the touch screen and buttons.
Thank you! We are excited about this opportunity, and we appreciate your support and help to protect our devices. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate in contacting our librarian, Jennifer Ritzie or principal, Rhonda McGee.

Remote MAP Testing 2.0
Your child's teacher will be sending out a schedule for on-campus testing and consent to test at BES in very near future.
If you would rather your child take the assessment at home, please do not help your child with reading and/or answering the questions on MAP. If you help your child, the data is skewed, and we are unable to truly measure your child's progress toward grade level mastery. We do not grade MAP. It is used to measure your child's progress only.
