Message from Mrs. Hampson

Dear Families,

Happy New Year from our Westmount family to yours! We hope that you were able to enjoy a relaxing and fun break with your friends and family. January’s virtue is Perseverance. We see students and staff demonstrating perseverance daily in our work and play. At Westmount, we place great importance on our core values and highlight a different value each month.

We take great pride in all of our students and the way they positively contribute to the community. Through our Christmas Hamper Drive, Westmount students and families donated 1658 items to help members of our local community. During the holiday season, our students also made hundreds of Christmas cards for our local seniors. Finally, our Christmas Marketplace raised $2677.40 for charity! Thank you to everyone who helped us give back! #community #collaboration #wecanmakeadifference

Please be reminded of our weather policy: If the wind chill drops below -25C, we do not send students outside for recess. If the wind chill is between -20C and -25C, we send students outside for a short amount of time to get some fresh air and burn off some energy. Anything warmer than -20C with the wind chill and our students will be outside for regular recess time. We encourage our students to come ready for the range of weather that is possible throughout the Albertan winter months. For those with permission, our Polar Bear Club is up and running!

As always, we strive to create diverse and engaging learning opportunities for our students. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay posted! #community

School Hours Reminder

Our first bell rings at 8:21 am. Supervision on the playground starts at 8:00 am. For safety reasons, please avoid dropping students off before 8:00 am.

Our final bell rings at 3:04 pm. If you pick up your child, please arrange a meeting place that is away from the bus run. Most of our students ride the bus to and from school so the bus run is a VERY busy place before and after school.

Thanks for helping us keep everyone safe!
