The Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza

This week, we have been doing a book study on The Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza. During this book study, we focused on teaching students how to look through a book and make predictions, determine the setting and plot, identify the main characters, and retell the main events in the story. We also incorporated many fun math, science, social studies, and art activities into our book study throughout the week. We also pretended to have a Pizza parlor in our dramatic play area.

We Must Brag.... On the best class in the whole school!

You will be happy to know, all of the students in Mrs. Chasity and Mrs. Wanda's class are doing very good following classroom rules and routines. I rarely have any behavior problems. We are SUPER proud of this accomplishment. Congratulate your child for his/her good behavior. Each student works hard each day to earn class dollars so that they can go to the treasure box. In the treasure box are good behavior coupons. These coupons allow the students to do a variety of special things at school. Examples are below.

  • teacher's helper for one day
  • sit in the beanbag chair during large group
  • use the i-pad during center time
  • bring a ball to play with at recess for one day
  • bring a car to play with at the block center for one day
  • bring a teddy bear or doll for one day
  • sit by a friend of your choice at lunch for one day
  • wear their slippers at school for one day
  • wear a hat to school for one day
  • wear pajamas to school for one day
  • take a picture with teachers and be recognized in our class newsletter
