I regret to inform you that ACMA Grad Night 2019 has been cancelled due to lack of interest. All money turned in will be refunded to students on Friday morning, June 7th, at the senior breakfast. If for some reason your student will not be there, please let me know so alternative arrangements can be made.

When our building is torn down to be replaced this summer that also means they will be tearing out all of our plants! ACMA’s Green Team would like to save them! Want to spruce up your yard or create something beautiful?
When: After school on June 10th, 11th, and 13th or during the day on June 17th and June 18th.
Where: Meet in Mr. Reed’s room 148 or find the people running around outside with shovels.
How much: We ask for you to decide on your own amount to be donated to the ACMA Green Team to further help us in making ACMA greener with recycling and a new garden area at Timberland.

Senior Activities & Graduation
Friday, June 7th – Senior Recognition Day
- Senior Breakfast - 7:45-9:10 AM, PAC Gallery
The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) will be serving a catered breakfast to seniors. Seniors should arrive at ACMA by 7:40 AM. The buses will be running at the regular times if seniors choose to ride the bus to school.
- Graduation Practice - 9:10-10:40 AM, Main Theater
Participation in graduation practice is mandatory. If a student does not participate in the graduation practice, they will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony.
- Senior Awards and Recognition - 10:40 AM-12:00 PM, Courtyard
Parents/guardians and family members are cordially invited to attend this assembly, where the accomplishments of the seniors are recognized before the entire student body. Sunscreen and hats are recommended during the Recognition Assembly. Typically, it gets quite warm on the asphalt of the Courtyard.

Meetings take place the second Tuesday of the month in the ACMA Library. Please join us on June 11th @ 7:00pm to learn of current happenings at the school, the upcoming move and what is in store for next year. We welcome anyone and everyone to attend and find out how they can help support ACMA’s staff, teachers and students.

ACMA Transition to "ACMA @ 118th"
Arts & Communication Magnet Academy will be moved to ACMA @ 118th Avenue beginning June 20, 2019 until June 2021. We will be moving the summer of 2019 and accessibility to our office will be limited or unavailable until June 24, 2019.
Office Hours starting June 24, 2019 will be: Monday - Thursday 9-3pm.

Updates to District Calendar for 2019-2020
Due to budget cuts the District Calendar has been updated for the 2019-2020 school year (see picture below). Please visit the District Calendar webpage for updated 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 revised District Calendars.
Because of this change ACMA has made date adjustments to our ACMA Day & Back To School Night. Here are the new dates:
- Monday, August 19th - ACMA Day (school photos, online verification, fee payments, collect class schedule) 7:30am thru 4:30pm
- Thursday, August 29th - Back-To-School Night/PTO Ice Cream Social 6:00pm

Clothes Closet Last Day of Service for 2018-2019
While closed to serving students during the summer, the program continues to accept donations and school lost & found. After June 19, please call Volunteer Services at 503-356-4443 to schedule lost & found drop offs. Donation bins in front of the Clothes Closet will be available Monday through Thursday during business hours for smaller donations.
The Clothes Closet will reopen on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Admit Slips are required and available through school offices.
Applications for the 2019-2020 Mayor’s Youth Advisory Board now open
The City of Beaverton invites youth in grades 9-12 to apply for a position on the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Board (MYAB). MYAB is an ad-hoc committee made up of 20 high school students from Beaverton area high schools.
The application can be found at www.BeavertonOregon.gov/MYAB. Application deadline: Friday, May 20, 2019.
MYAB was established to provide a voice for youth in our community. Students are selected by Mayor Denny Doyle to serve on the board. MYAB reports to the mayor and city council on issues of concern to youth. MYAB’s mission is to serve the common good of the community and provide a voice for youth in decisions and policies of the city. MYAB focuses on community service projects and promoting youth activism.

Attention Students in grades 9-12: Beaverton Youth Summit is Back!
Sponsored by the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Board, the Beaverton Youth Summit will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. at the Beaverton City Library Auditorium, 12375 SW 5th St.
Two separate panels will discuss entrepreneurship and local government and will be a great opportunity for students to explore career opportunities in both of these fields. A burrito lunch will be provided.

Beaverton School-Based Health Center Summer Hours
2019 Summer Meals Program
This summer, children can enjoy free lunches through the Summer Food Service Program
sponsored by Beaverton School District Nutrition Services Department. The Summer Food
Service Program is a federally-funded nutrition program open to all children ages 1-18 years.
Adults can eat for just $3.50. No applications or registration are necessary, and all children
and teens are welcome. In addition to lunch, some sites offer breakfast in conjunction to
scheduled summer school programs.
There are 18 school sites providing meals this summer. All children are encouraged and
welcome to come join in the fun! Bring your children or tell a friend. Days of service can
be different for some sites, so please check the Nutrition Services Summer Meal Program
website for dates, locations, and times. Lunches will be served Mon. - Fri., June 18 through
August 16, 2018 at most of the following sites:

Beaver Acres, Chehalem, Elmonica, Greenway, Hazeldale, Kinnaman, McKay, McKinley, Raleigh Park, and Vose
Middle Schools:
Meadow Park, Mountain View
High Schools:

This year, the BSD, in collaboration with multiple community partners, will offer the
following FREE enrichment opportunities at select sites during the meal program: Kids
Yoga, iBopKids song and dance classes, THPRD’s RecMobile and Nature Mobile, Story Time
with the Beaverton City Library, OSU Extension Service’s “Food Hero” Cooking Classes and
