Garden Grant!
received a grant that will be used to install a drip irrigation line to existing gardens. Students will learn about water conservation, and will learn alternate ways to conserve water while sustaining the plants that they cultivate.
Researching on the Chrome Books
This picture is one of 3rd grade students using our new Chrome Book Cart from Boosterthon funds. Students are using their research skills as they inquire into various ecosystems and create an informational slide show in their Google Drive.
Rayzor Runners
Check out this picture of the Rayzor Runners coaches! These teachers have come out year after year, spending their after school time helping coach the kids in their running activities. The kids have learned so much about themselves. These coaches played a huge role in that. Thank you to Ms. Hodges, Mr. Bates, Mr. Huynh, Mr. Rose, Ms. Hayes, and of course Mr. Hill.

-Your child will need to wear their bathing suit to school with their clothes on top.
-Please be sure to apply sunscreen to your child before sending them to school. In addition, last year we had several children get burn so I am asking each child to bring a shirt to put on if thy begin to get burned.
Your child will need:
A sack lunch with NO glass bottles or containers. Sack lunches will be available in the cafeteria if needed.
A towel and a bag for wet swimming suits.
Extra clothes/underwear for them to change into after we get back. Students will change back into their clothes when we get back to Newton Rayzor. Students will change in the restroom stalls at Newton Rayzor.
Extra sunscreen, hats, or sunglasses as needed. Your child will be responsible for their own items.
Parents: If you have completed your background check and are volunteering at the water park you should have received a wristband. Make sure you contact your child’s teacher so he/she can add you to the database and background checks can be cross checked. Please let me know if you haven’t received one so that I can have time to figure out where it is and get it to you. ( put water park volunteer in the subject line) Make sure you wear your wristband. You will NOT be admitted without it. All parent volunteers will meet us at the waterpark at the front gate.
Happy Carrico
