Planning for Hero Hour....
We need to create and plan Intervention/Enrichment Classes during our PLC on Fridays. This needs to become a routine that we work together in our PLC's every Friday to make sure we are ready for PrimeTime Classes the following week.
Here are some expectations of PLC time on Fridays:
1.) This is not a new thing that we have to do. Rather, the district and our school expectation has been to discuss who is learning, who is NOT learning, and what are WE going to do about it.
2.) Therefore, on Fridays, all teachers need to work together within their PLC's to make sure every teacher has created a PrimeTime Class for the next week.
3.) If your plan is intervention with specific students, then you need to make sure that you CLAIM those students within PrimeTime. (***The PT system will monitor the "Priority" each week, so you can claim students whenever you are ready. You do not need to wait for other teachers to create classes or claim students.)
4.) If your plan is enrichment, then you need to make sure that your capacity is appropriate. It should be at least 30, unless you have prior approval from ADMIN. The expectation is that enrichment numbers (30) should be higher than intervention numbers (15).
5.) At the latest, all of this needs to be done before you leave school on Friday afternoons, beginning Friday, Sept. 6.
6.) All of us making this a routine and an expectation each week will help make it easier on everyone, because we will be working and planning together, so that we will all be ready for PrimeTime sign-ups first thing Monday morning.
Thank for all your hard work and cooperation through this process. Change can be difficult and frustrating, but you are doing a fantastic job. We believe that this will become routine and easier with time. Moreover, we believe that this will be best for students.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
We can't thank you enough for all of your hard work and dedication to our students and our school.
