Briones Community Kindness and Strength Rock Garden
Our fifth grade classes each completed a three-hour course called Expect Respect from Project Cornerstone and created action plans for how they could help make Briones an even kinder, more respectful school. Unfortunately, school closed before they could carry out their plans. One of the ideas that they discussed was creating a kindness rock garden.
In honor of the AMAZING class of 2020, we invite you to decorate a rock to add to the Briones Strength and Kindness Rock Garden!
Who: EVERYONE! Students, parents, teachers, staff, siblings, alumni, community members!
What: Decorate a rocks with messages of kindness, strength, happiness, and inclusion
How: You can use markers, paint, or get creative with other items. Please keep in mind that the rocks will be made into an outdoor art installation.
Then what? Take a picture of your creation and send it to Ms. B.at kbimpson@ pausd.org by May 25, 2020. Keep your rock safe and bring them to school when we re-open. We will apply a protective coating to each rock and add it to the collection!
Fifth graders will be invited to bring their rocks back to Briones where they will be added to a special honorary part of the garden.
Can't make a rock at home? No worries! When school re-opens we will have rock decorating days at noon until everyone who wants to make one can.
