Morning Hours and Drop-off...
With our recent change in school start time we've had some headaches with traffic backing up on Berlin Road causing some delays with our buses and families trying to get in or out of our parking lot. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. To help improve our traffic flow and efficiency please note the following changes and tips:
7:15...
Our building opens at 7:20, but if you arrive between 7:15 and 7:20 you can let your kids out to begin lining up outside our doors. We'll have staff on hand monitoring outside. If it's rainy and you don't want your child to wait in the elements, please pull into a designated parking space outside of the drop-off line and then either walk your child across the cross walk at 7:20 or pull back into the line to drop them off.
7:35...
To give students a bit more time to get into the building our tardy bell won't ring until 7:35. Students arriving up to that point can go straight to class. If your child would like to eat breakfast and arrives after 7:30 they will need to eat in the cafe rather than their classroom.
Efficiency tips...
- Please have your child ready to exit the car right when you pull in.
- We can off-load four or five cars at once, so please be ready once you're near the front...we'll have a marker to help you know when to start having kids get out.
- Students should always exit on the sidewalk side of your car.
- If you or your child need more time to gather things before exiting, please use a designated parking spot rather than the drop-off line.
After school...
Our pick-up is going OK, but we realize some of you are waiting in line for longer than you (or we) would like. As a reminder, we'd like our K/1 families in front of our line, followed by 2/3 and 4/5. If you're picking up a middle school student and their siblings, arriving at 2:15/12:15 or a bit later may help you avoid waiting in a long line. If you arrive too early (2nd-MS families), you can pull into a parking space and wait for your child to come out. You can use the cross walk to come pick-up your child or alert staff and we'll help get them safely to you. We appreciate your patience, and, as with drop-off, please be as efficient as possible in loading and exiting so we can keep our line moving.
Mask Reminder...
Most students show up everyday with a well-fitting mask ready to go. Thank you! We realize that some days students may need to use a disposable mask at school and we have plenty on hand to help out as needed. This is just a friendly reminder to check-in with them in the car or before they get on the bus to make sure their mask is ready to go for the day. Having an extra one in their backpack has been useful many times, too. We appreciate your help!
New Staff...
We're happy to announce two new staff members who have joined the Hamilton Creek family. Zoey Canfield and Jamie Reid. Zoey will be working as an Instructional Assistant in special education, while Jamie will be supporting our Title I program as an Instructional Assistant. Please help us welcome them to The Creek!
