Happy Monday JSE Families!

Thank you to everyone for spreading the word of our fog delay this morning. Just a reminder to sign-up for "NotifyMe" through our JSE website. You will see the "NotifyMe" icon on our JSE front page. Please click on the icon and complete the information. This is another way to be informed of important UTSC information.

2hr Delay Schedule: No Breakfast, First Bell 10:40, Second Bell 10:50

Open House was a success with 80% in attendance! We welcome your feedback as we continue to strengthen communication lines for our partnership! Thank you to our PTO and UTMS Junior National Honor Society student volunteers for hosting a delicious Ice Cream Sundae Social! Enjoy a few pictures above.

Our students were thrilled to visit the JSE media center last week and check-out their first books of the school year. We strive for students to choose high interest, challenging reading material. Mrs. Morton, our Media Aide does an excellent job of getting to know student interests and purchasing books accordingly. Please feel free to e-mail her if you are looking for a specific topic or book. Thank you for building reading time into your nightly routine!

JOIN US: The first PTO meeting is Tuesday evening at 6pm, all JSE parents are welcome. Help shape your child's school experience for the better by helping our PTO in various ways. The second annual Brownies and Books event in the media center will be discussed. Stay tuned for a PTO monthly newsletter!

Have a great week,

Mrs. Barnes

Notes From the Nurse: Birthday Treats and Classroom Parties

The UTSC wellness policy requires any food items brought to school and shared with students for classroom parties or birthday treats be store bought with the ingredient label included. Thank you for your cooperation.

Notes from Mrs. Fields:

All students went on a mini-field trip to our JSE parking lot to learn Bus Safety Procedures and Tips with Mrs. Fields. Our bus drivers have one of the most vital jobs on this earth in transporting your children back and forth to the schoolhouse. And they do an awesome job, caring about each of your children! Please support our drivers in reviewing the importance of bus safety.
