Third Grade Happenings:

September 9-13

This Week at School....

Reading: This week we will begin discuss the ingredients of a Mystery. Look for 30 in Third to come home this week!
Words: New spelling sorts will go home today. Please study the words by the sort they are in. Our test will be on Friday.
Writing: This week we will publish our Wel"GUM" writings and begin discussing how to write a letter.
South Carolina History: This week we will wrap up the Midlands and talk about the Outer Coastal Plain. There will be a Midlands test on Thursday.
Math: this week we will begin a new unit on addition. We will explore various addition strategies as we work towards 3 digit and 4 digit addition.
Science: This week we will practice using different tools and learn what they measure or how they are used in science. Our first major test will be Friday, September 20, and will cover process skills, tools, and measurement.

Columbia Field Trip

Our Columbia trip is scheduled for November 14th. If you are interested in chaperoning, please let your homeroom teacher know. There are a limited number of chaperone spots for this trip.
The cost of this trip and the Rock Quarry is $30.00. You may make 2 payments ($15/$15). The due dates for the payments are Monday, Sept. 16 and Friday Oct. 11.

Watch DOGS Kick-Off: Thursday evening at 6:30 in the cafeteria.
Wren/Easley Tailgate: WES Bus Parking Lot starting at 5:30. Come out and support our PTO and Wren Hurricanes!
