Park Hill's SOS Signs of Suicide Prevention Program Virtual Information Night
Park Hill's SOS Signs of Suicide Prevention Program Virtual Information Night
During this challenging year, we have been teaching students about mental wellness and how to seek help if they are worried about themselves or a friend. To help us do this, we are using a program called Signs of Suicide, or SOS.
Thousands of schools have used SOS, and studies show that it effectively teaches students about depression and suicide while reducing the number of students’ self-reported suicide attempts. Through the program, students learn about the signs of depression and suicide, that it is treatable, and how to ACT if they are concerned: Acknowledge, Care and Tell a trusted adult. We also help students identify whom they can turn to at school for help.
Please join us as we share with families how we are using SOS in our schools. We are offering four separate sessions for parents and guardians: 6 to 7 p.m. on February 23 and 25. Pick a session from the drop-down box. After you register, we will send you a confirmation email with information about joining the webinar.

Super Test Day- Tuesday, March 2
Distance Learning Day, Tuesday, March 2:
- Freshmen will have the opportunity to take a practice ACT on Schoology, followed by time to work on Summit or Edgenuity from home.
- Seniors will work on Summit and Edgenuity from home.
Reporting to LEAD on Tuesday, March 2 for testing:
- Sophomores will take the PreACT that will provide students and parents results that indicate preparedness for ACT in the Junior year.
- Juniors will take the ACT exam. All expenses are covered by PHSD and this score may be used for college and university admission requirements.
We will be sending details on breakfast, lunch, transportation, and where students report for testing in the coming week. Testing will begin at our regular start time (7:50am) and most likely conclude around 12:00 noon.
AP Sign-Up Procedures
If your student is enrolled in an AP Course they need to follow the appropriate procedures depending on their home high school to order their AP Exam.
PARK HILL HIGH/LEAD STUDENTS: Students will commit to taking the test on the exam commitment form given to them by their teacher. Park Hill High School will then order AP exams for students that marked the commitment form indicating they want to take the test. Teachers will turn in commitment forms to Dr. Eisenmenger by February 5th. Park Hill High School will add the $95.00 charge to the students Infinite Campus Account. They normally do this sometime in the Spring.
SOUTH/LEAD Students: For students to get an AP Test ordered, please bring a $95.00 check to Dr. Eisenmenger’s office by March 1st, 2021. The check needs to be made out to Park Hill South. Please write on the check which test your student wants to take on the memo line.
