A Message from the Principal...
Dear friends,
I hope you enjoyed the weekend and the final days of sunshine for a while. Next week we have two minimum days planned for March 17th & 18th. The Shared Governance Team is still working on all the details, but I wanted to share the tentative plan with you.
On the 17th, Shaylene will be facilitating the SBAC training followed by an opportunity to revisit our Shared Governance structure. The remainder of that day will be reserved for you to complete the mandatory online training for human trafficking and maintaining appropriate boundaries with students. Those of you who have already completed this online coursework may have the gift of time.
On the 18th, our focus will be on academic rigor as it relates to our school-wide theory of action. Specifically, we will explore what rigor is and is not, examine how lessons can be made more rigorous with a few simple tweaks, and then have an opportunity to "level up" a lesson you plan to teach in the coming weeks so that the cognitive demand for students is at a Depth of Knowledge Level 3 or 4. Additional work time will be provided at our March 26th Ram Way meeting, and like we did with our blended learning lessons, we will be creating a sign up sheet for lesson observations. As with our prior learning, this is non-evaluative, but rather an opportunity to grow our collective instructional expertise.
I will close with a request from our RTI TOSA, Hilary Cuevas Balanon and the district RTI Team, who are seeking interest for an upcoming TLC. Please follow the link for more information:
