People with Spanish heritage and Argentines are associated with the Tango.
History of the Music
The Tango was influenced but the African communities and their rhythms. The instruments and techniques brought in by European immigrants in the 20th century played played a major role in the tango's final definition.
Characteristics of the Music
Most string instruments, bandoneons, and the piano are the main instruments played in the Tango.
The top 10 Tango artists are Carlos Gardel, Astor Piazzolla, Anibal Troilo, Juan Carlos Copes, Osvaldo Pugliese, Azucena Maizani, Horacio Ferrer, Carlos Saura, Casimiro Ain, and Gotan Project.
The Tango is most danced at a "Milongas" which is a social dance event.

The women usually where really tight and stretching tops with any type of skirt that allows you to move around and dance. They also sometimes where dresses. They also where tango dance shoes and fishnet stockings.

The men usually where silk shirts with straight cut trousers. They also where dance shoes.
Connection to Dance
The Argentine Tango is danced to Tango music. The Waltz and the Milonga can also be danced to Tango music.
The Music Today
A newer style sometimes called tango nuevo or "new tango", has become popular recently by a younger generation of dancers. this style is often related to people who enjoy dancing to jazz and techno-tinged "alternative tango" music, and the traditional tango.
