News & Information for Tiger Families

September 30, 2022

Letter from the Principal

Tiger Families,

Thank you to all the 8th grade families who have already filled out the High School Interest Form. We are still missing a few student's information. If you have not already filled out the link below please do so.

Thank you to everyone who attended the See You At The Pole Prayer Day! We had a great showing. It is truly a blessing to be in such a loving, kind, gracious, and prayerful atmosphere. May God continue to bless all of you.

This campus is made up of a tapestry of many different students, all of whom have the need to experience the truth of Jesus Christ and be loved unconditionally.

As Christians we Pray for the world.

We Pray for the United States.

We Pray for St. Teresa Catholic School.

We Pray for the safety of the students and faculty at St. Teresa and all schools around the nation.

We pray that Christian students will be strengthened in their faith and confidence in Christ.

We pray that students who have emotional, physical, or family needs will be ministered to by the Christians at school.

We pray for each other and our families.

Have a great weekend and as always we thank you for sharing your student with us. We appreciate your trust, support, and partnership.

Sincerely,

Nicole Green

Principal

The Community Interfaith Food Pantry is in great need of food donations. Father Joseph is asking for a unified effort to provide these much needed items from the families at St. Teresa Church, St. Luke's Church, and St. Teresa School. Students are asked to bring nonperishable food items to Mass on Wednesday, October 5th, St. Teresa's Parish Feast Day. Students will be placing the food that they brought with them on the altar steps during Mass. Please help support the Community Interfaith Food Pantry by bringing items to Mass.

October 13th - 8th Grade Parent Meeting

There is a mandatory parent meeting for all 8th graders on October 13th at 6 pm in the Parish Center. Every 8th grade student must have at least one parent present at the meeting, as important information will be distributed at that time.

SVDP Friends of the Poor Walk Kick Off

The St. Vincent DePaul Friends of the Poor Walk donation collection is officially underway! Each student has been challenged to bring in just $5.00, which would provide breakfast for a person in need from our community. All students have also been encouraged to do a "good deed" in order to earn that money! Donations should be sent in by 10/18. Last year, we raised nearly $2,500 for Cosgrove's Kitchen!! If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Duncan at barbie.duncan@stteresatigers.org. Thank you for your support!

Scholar Bowl

This Tuesday, October 4th, School Bowl will have their first meeting from 3:00-4:30 in Mrs. Janes’ classroom. This will be an instructional meeting for any 7th graders or newly interested 8th graders to learn how our matches operate. Existing team members are welcome to attend as well. For any questions, please reach out to Becky Blandina at 618-315-7618 or beckyblandina@gmail.com.

LUNCH:

For the 2022 – 2023 school year, schools are required to return to charging for school meals. The program flexibility provided by the federal government has expired; therefore, meals are no longer free. St. Teresa School is accepting payment through FACTS. Parents can deposit money for meals in their FACTS Management Account.

Lunch Costs: School lunches will cost $3.35 per lunch this year with milk costing $0.70. This year students from Kindergarten to 8th grade will have four lunch choices; two rotating choices, a salad, or a sandwich.

Snacks will be available for on the spot cash purchase for 5th - 8th grade.

PreK will have three lunch choices; two rotating choices, or a sandwich.

St. Teresa School does not permit food deliveries from vendors such as DoorDash, UberEats, restaurant delivery, etc. If a fast food item is dropped off for your student to eat at school, they will be asked to eat it in the office.

Dress Code

Students are allowed to wear ANY COLOR spirit wear on Fridays. All spirit wear must be in good taste and say St. Teresa School on it.

Ensure you are following the Student Handbook for Dress Code

This is a reminder that students should be wearing a white polo on Wednesday for Mass.
