We would like to take the opportunity to welcome you back to our nest! We are excited you have chosen to return to Home INstead INnovation Academy as your place to learn.

Home INstead INnovation Academy (HIIA) is a special place, and we are here to support your child’s transition into school as well as help support you each step along the way. HIIA is an optional choice for an alternative instructional placement (independent study) by which all enrolled students may achieve curriculum objectives in a setting other than the regular classroom. HIIA gives parents the responsibility to support the instruction of their child in the home environment with the professional support from supervising teachers.

Our School Business day is Wednesday, August 10, 2022. On this day you will take your school picture, receive your Hornet ID card, pick up your textbooks and device. Our first day of school is Monday, August 15, 2022. Prior to attending our School Business day, it is important that you update your Family Annual Update and sign your digital (DocuSign) Independent Study Master Agreement. The Master Agreement was emailed to you in June. You should have received 2 emails, one for parent signature and one for student signature. If these are not signed prior to our School Business day, you will need to complete them before picking up any materials. The Independent Study Master Agreement must be signed prior to a student starting school. If it is not signed, we are required to drop the student from HIIA and return the student to their school of residence.

Also, you are able to purchase your school spirit shirt, community discount card and yearbook by visiting our online store on our website. These will be available for pick up on the business day. Online Community Store Link.

We encourage you to frequently check your email and our instagram page @hiiahornets for important information regarding school events and what to expect this school year. Teachers will be reaching out to families by Friday, August 12 with meeting links and other information specific to their classes. They are excited to meet their swarm of HIIA Hornets.
