**Jaguars Lead the Way** 8/07/20 Vol. 2

Message from the Principal
Hola Jaguar Familia!
I am very excited as we officially start our 20-21 School Year this Monday, August 10th at 9 am. Although we are starting our school year under different circumstances, I want us to focus on the opportunities that are awaiting us. Today, more than ever, we have the opportunity to excel in our classrooms and in our homes. As we spend more time online, we have been afforded the opportunity to learn new life skills and use online resources to our advantage. As this pandemic passes, we will eventually return to school and share the gifts of resilience that we endured as well as the bonds that have carried us through this difficult time. I am asking every member of our Jaguar Familia to make sure we are ready to learn and challenge ourselves for the start of a new academic school year. Please keep in mind that each new school year = 180 opportunities! Believe in who you are and what you are capable of. Remember, Jaguars lead the way!

A message from your Counselor...
Welcome Back!
As we begin the school year, I would like to welcome back all of our students and extend a warm welcome to all of our incoming freshmen and transfer students.
My role as the academic counselor is to help all students in the areas of academic achievement, career and social/emotional development and to ensure students become productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow.
In other words….
- Meet with students to develop goals for the future
- Help students select classes
- Provide workshops on mental health topics: anxiety, time management, building positive relationships, etc
- Provide workshops on career development: Career inventories, resume building, interview skills, etc.
- Guide students in the submission of college applications and job applications
- Advocate for students rights
- & more
In my free time, I love to spend time with my family, going on road trips, anything and everything related to the Fall season, interior decorating, traveling, and watching live sports games.
